Top Hilton Head Island, South Carolina golf packages for spring and the RBC Heritage

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- A longtime favorite stop on the PGA Tour is the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links, which will be played April 14-17, right after the Masters. The players really like the Jack Nicklaus/Pete Dye designed classic golf course, which was recently renovated and just continues to get better over the years.

But they also like playing there for many of the same reasons regular golfers do: Hilton Head Island is a welcoming destination with great dining, hospitality and plenty to do and see besides golf.

Fortunately, Harbour Town and the other courses at Sea Pines Resort are open to the public, as are most of the nearly two dozen golf courses on Hilton Head Island. And if the Heritage is getting you in the mood for taking a trip to Hilton Head, you're in luck. There's no shortages of golf packages to Hilton Head Island, beginning with the RBC Heritage Package, which starts at $524 (per person, per night) and emulates the popular PGA Tour event.

The RBC Heritage Package includes a walking caddie, access to the new full-service professional players locker room, practice area with customized nameplate, one-hour of professional instruction prior to playing, and first-tee introduction. It also comes with two nights at the acclaimed Inn & Club at Harbour Town along with breakfast or lunch at Links, an American Grill in the Harbour Town clubhouse. Players also receive custom branded gifts including a locker room plaque and desktop mount, personalized caddie bib and bag tag, a sleeve of golf balls, tees, sunscreen, visor or hat, golf shirt, towel, ball marker, divot tool, and a Harbour Town yardage book.

And while Harbour Town might be Hilton Head's most famous golf course, it's hardly the only quality option. Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort (read more about Palmetto Dunes here) offers three outstanding golf courses, most notably the Robert Trent Jones Course, which provides views of the Atlantic Ocean as you make the turn to the back nine.

And while you obviously can't play Harbour Town during the week of the RBC Heritage, if you're planning on attending, Palmetto Dunes' Heritage Golf Package not only provides tickets to the PGA Tour event, but villa accommodations, two rounds of golf (which can also be used for the Arthur Hills Course or George Fazio Course) for four players, a resort gift-card and discounts on other activities. To book your package just call (843) 686-9697 and use the promo code HERITAGE.

And finally, Heritage Golf Group also offers a wide variety of stay-and-play packages, which can be customized before, during or after the RBC Heritage. There are seven different golf courses – such as the Rees Jones-designed Oyster Reef Golf Club (where you'll find the new and outstanding LagerHead Tavern) or historic 27-hole Shipyard Golf Club -- at a variety of price points, so you'll never get bored. In fact, one of the packages includes unlimited golf.

Heritage Golf also offers a variety of accommodations in its packages, including villas and the Sonesta Resort and Westin Hilton Head Island, where ocean views are included. For more information or to book a package with Heritage Golf, click here.
