More than its ocean view: Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Named for its legendary designer, the Robert Trent Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort is also one of the top courses in Hilton Head Island.

Known for its ocean view on the par-5 10th hole, the course is sort of like nearby Harbour Town Golf Links in that it's about so much more than one or two holes. Also one of the best conditioned courses on the island, Palmetto Dunes' RTJ Course has a wide variety of holes, which open up at the turn for a series of tests that not only come close to the Atlantic, but cross over several water hazards.

Well bunkered, but with generous fairways, the course is playable by all levels, especially with six sets of tees that range from 2,625 yards to just over 7,000.
