It's been a devastating past week for communities along the gulf coast as Hurricane Harvey dropped record amounts of rain over several days. But residents are picking up the pieces and area golf courses are drying out and even reopening.
Our own Mike Bailey is a Houston resident and has been tracking the devastation and subsequent repair throughout the Houston area.
One of the communities that was a direct hit from the storm was Galveston, which is home to one of our Top 50 courses in 2016, Moody Gardens Golf Course. According to a review earlier in August, conditions were the "best I've seen it."
Fortunately, the Moody Gardens website said the course should reopen by September 4th. It was certainly on a roll with golfers prior to Harvey's landfall, so we're glad damage wasn't so great that the facility will be closed for an extended period.
You can view the ten best golf courses of the month based on Golf Advisor reviews below, which feature courses coast-to-coast. To see what golfers are saying about their experience, click on their course guide page to view more details.
