Power Rankings for May 16: Ussher's Creek in Ontario takes the gold, plus photo and review of the week

With a gold medal victory over Finland at the Ice Hockey World Championships in Moscow, and hoops fans hoping the Toronto Raptors can finish off Cleveland in the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals, Canada is on a serious sports roll.

Add to that success the debut of Ussher's Creek at Legends on the Niagara Golf Course in Ontario atop the Golf Advisor Power Rankings.

Ussher's Creek, a Thomas McBroom design, last made the Power Rankings during the week of Oct. 12. In his five-star review posted May 22, u000002342773 wrote: "Myself and 7 buddies went out for a round and the course was in great shape. Never had to wait. Staff was great. Great practise faculty. All round great day. We will be back very soon."

Golf course review of the week

u000002903679 filed this week's top review from The Trophy Club in Lebanon, Ind. The course is no stranger to positive reviews on Golf Advisor. In 2015 it was named second of the Top 20 Courses in Indiana in 2015, 29th among the top courses in the U.S. in 2015, and 16th among the Top 25 Value Courses in the U.S. in 2015.

He wrote:

The Trophy Club was a gem of a course, just off of I-65. Greens were in good shape, layout was challenging, but fair, and the staff was very friendly. The course was a little soggy due to recent rain, but I get the feeling that it stays pretty moist. Overall, had a great time playing a new course, although it was quite slow (probably to be expected on a Saturday late morning).
