Power Rankings: Alabama hidden gem leads the top-rated golf courses in the 2nd quarter

With the first half of the year in the books, let's look back on the courses that received the best ratings on Golf Advisor during the second quarter. The top ten, with a minimum of five reviews between April 1st-June 30th, is a mix of facilities that are great value and hidden-gem courses, plus a few nationally-recognized destination courses to boot.

The number one course is one that has really earned a place on Golf Advisor as one of our best bargain plays no one really knows about, Gunter's Landing in Alabama. Between Huntsiville and Birmingham, it has a scenic setting on the Tennessee River and delivers exceptional friendliness and value. Reviewer Saggy69 submitted five images to go with his five-star review:

Read about this course on Golf Advisor and had to check it out. Booked the tee time through Golfnow.com and what a bargain it was. Back home this track would cost you $75-$100 easy to play it. Course was in great shape for the heat and the greens were perfect. The Driving Range is awesome and the views from the Tee Box were 2nd to none. If you don't like forced carry then you might want to rethink this round. This will be a regular stop when I visit the south.
