Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida re-opens with new holes, greens and redone bunkers

With 18 new greens, several new holes and renovated bunkers, the redesigned Shingle Creek Golf Club at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel near the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando has re-opened.

The original David Harman design (par 72, 7,228 yards), which opened in 2003, has been re-done by Arnold Palmer Design Co. Some holes on the front nine were eliminated, which means there are several new holes on the golf course as well. Most notably, the new eighth hole is combination of two old holes and now plays as a 610-yard par 5, and the ninth hole is now a 505-yard par 4 from the back tees.

The 12th, 13th and 14th are all new holes, too, and the 15th, a par 3, now plays alongside a lake instead of over it. The golf course, which has four sets of tees, now plays to 7,213 yards from the back tees. Par is still 72.

All the greens were rebuilt, adding significant undulation, plus they got new TifEagle grass. Bunkers were redone as well and now flash much better than they did before.
Shingle Creek G.C. re-opened Dec. 1 with green fees at $99 in the morning, $55 in the afternoon. They increase on Jan. 14 to $165 and $90 respectively.

The Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel is offering several packages. Until Jan. 12, 2017 you can get two rounds of golf and a night of accommodations for $399 (goes up to $449 Jan. 13-April 13). There's also a Golf & Grub package for $69 that includes lunch and a round of golf. Click here for more information.
