Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach: South Carolina's most awarded course

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Situated right along the Grand Strand, Tidewater Golf Club is South Carolina's most awarded golf course and has more than two decades of rave reviews to prove it.

It's still the only layout ever to be named "Best New Course" by both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine. As one of the premiere golf courses in Myrtle Beach, it's popular among both locals and visitors.

Tidewater is a challenging but fair course with many risk-reward opportunities throughout. The diverse terrain gives each hole a unique character and different scenery. Some holes are surrounded by water or overlook the crashing waves of the Atlantic while others are framed by mature trees. The holes that are located along the marsh are especially scenic. The Tidwater layout is a shot-maker's paradise that will have you using almost every club in your bag. Well placed shots will be generously rewarded and accuracy is essential. The layout features par 4s that are long and others that are shorter and more like playing target golf. You'll want to watch out for the par 3s. Many of them are particularly tough with water carries to undulating greens.
