Golf Advisor's Top 20 Courses in Ohio in 2014

With springtime starting to peek it's way out in the Midwest, it's time to announce the top courses of 2014 in Ohio as reviewed by Golf Advisor raters.

While Ohio is more known for it's prestigious private clubs and neighboring Michigan is more known for its resorts, Ohio has a collection of really solid daily-fee and member-for-a-day options. Consider this, of the 112 courses that had at least 20 reviews in 2014, 17 scored at least a 4.5/5 and the top three made GolfAdvisor's Top 50 U.S. courses of 2014.

You don't need a membership to Muirfield Village or Scioto; there are plenty of happy golfers walking the fairways of Ohio's public courses.

Checking in at no. 1 is one of the state's most well known publics: Virtues Golf Club, which is a regular in Golf Digest's Top 100 courses you can play. About 45 minutes east of Columbus, The Arthur Hills design rewards those who make the drive with one of the state's finest pieces of property for golf. User Chance15 summed up the experience in his review well:

"It is simply one of the most beautiful courses I have played," Chance15 wrote. "When you tee off on any hole you have no neighboring fairways; you are in your own little world."

You can view the rest of Ohio's top 20, which includes courses from the metro Cleveland area to Cincinnati.

Boulder Creek Golf Club.....???

Boulder Creek hasn't received enough reviews to qualify but it does look great.

Agree!!!!

Obviously you have not played Stonelick Hills

Stonelick gets excellent reviews on Golf Advisor but it didn't qualify specifically for 2014.
