There's a new name in the Sonoran Desert, and it tops this week's Power Rankings: Tegavah Golf Club, formerly Vista Verde Golf Club, clean-swept the competition last week in overall, value and conditions categories.
The course, located in the Valley of the Sun's East Valley and operated by O.B. Sports, opened in 2006 but changed its name for the 2014 season. Raters for GolfAdvisor scored it high in all seven categories, particularly in regards to staff friendliness and value.
Perhaps proof that the Phoenix-Scottsdale is indeed America's golf capital no matter what time of year, Tegavah is joined in this week's edition of Power Rankings by neighbors Legend Trail, Talking Stick and Copper Canyon. The new Sewailo Golf Club at Casino Del Sol in nearby Tucson also scored high this week.
