Tucson's Arizona National Golf Club leads Power Rankings for the week of July 28

If you haven't played Tucson's Arizona National Golf Club in a few years, you may very well be missing out on one of the destination's top courses.

That's evident in this week's edition of Power Rankings, where the course has sprung to the top of the list for the week.

That hasn't always been the case with Arizona National, as evidenced by it's 3-star cumulative rating dating back to 2012. In prior years, golfers have lamented the course's conditions and suggested one of the area's best layouts, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1995, was in need of some T.L.C.

But the ratings in 2014 are a different story: 4.4/5 overall and conditions are a 4.45/5.

GolfAdvisor reviewer dahlers2 perhaps sums it up best in his review written last week:

"I played here before & up until 6 months ago the course had been going downhill," he wrote. "It is now in excellent condition for the time of year in Arizona."

We've uncovered many more of the country's hottest plays in this week's Power Rankings, which spotlights courses with the best overall, value and conditions ratings.

(Editor's Note: Courses needed a minimum of five ratings for the week to qualify, Ties are broken by cumulative scores in sub-categories.)
