Morehead City Country Club

Played for the first time. Great mixture of holes - short par 4 with water on both sides of fairway. Beautiful finishing hole - risk/reward par 5. Conditions excellent - didn't touch the ball in the fairway. If we were to retire in Morehead City we would definitely join! If you get a chance to play, don't hesitate! Staff outstanding!

This was honestly the nicest course I’ve ever played at. May not be saying much but for the price I was blown away. I paid the same there as I do the “nicest” course from where I’m from. Hope to play again one day!

I played this course in July and the greens were bumpy and not consistent and the tee boxes had weeds and dirt spots. Was I surprised at the vast improvements in such a short time. Not only were the greens smooth and true and the tee boxes in great shape but was also impressed by the fairways and the beautification around the course. Flowing ponds, brush clean up around trees so you can actually punch out instead of an unplayable, unfortunately which I experienced more than I wanted to. The club house is being renovated and can't wait to see what that looks like next year. Amazing how new ownership with commitment can turn a course around. Looking forward to playing again!!

I should admit, I have been a member here for nearly 20 years, so I have seen this course steadily improve over the years. Much work has been done to make the greens the best in the area, and one will find the tees, fairways, bunkers, and even the rough to be meticulously maintained throughout. This is a shorter course (only 6000 yds from the whites and 6300 from the blues), but the elevation at sea level, softer fairways, and well guarded greens make it play at least 300 yds longer. You'll want to play to the proper segment of the green to leave yourself a level or uphill putt as often as possible, a 20 footer uphill is much more preferable to a 10 foot down the hill here.

The improvements don't stop on the course. The lounge is improved too, with great breakfast, lunch including sandwiches, salads, seafood baskets, wings, and more. Great beer and drink prices, two huge TVs in the lounge to hang around afterwards and watch the game. This is a comfortable place where you'll want to spend the day

If you have the opportunity to play as a guest of a member or play in a tournament here, jump at the opportunity. If you are thinking about joining a club in this area, this is truly the best deal around.
