Pretty course
Have played and bragged about this course to all of my friends. When all my buddies come in from out of town HH is always on the schedule.
However, this past Monday I took 3 of my buddies out and unfortunately theywill not be coming back. We played as a 4-some and had to continually allow single and twosomes play through as we were trying not to hold up the course which was filled with 2-somes and singles. Since I was familiar with the golf course and the extra holes we decided to get out of the way and play the old holes of 12,13,14 and on the 15th tee box we ran into the owner who was rude to say the least. He was confrontational and clueless to what we just did for him. As we are all business owners we tried to keep the golf course moving at our expense. We put HH reputation first by moving out of the way and we even played in 4 hours!! Then we were told to get back to hole 12 and keep playing. So we did. Not only did we play, we had a gallery follow us around and try to intimidate us as we played. Seriously this actually occurred!! We are 50 year old men and have professional businesses and were treated like this.
Lastly, the old original golf course was a hidden gem! I played this course all through High School and fell in love with it.
However, like so many stupid things that humans do, someone thought it would be a great idea to add a new 4th and 5th holes. The 4 th hole is probably in the top 5 garbage holes I have ever played. You have to carry a drive 233 yards over .... a mess or lay up in the mess. The 5th hole is just a really hard par 3. It's not a bad hole, just challenging.
Now on to the back 9. The former holes of 12,13, 14 and 15 are just flipping awesome! 12 from the back is 460 plays uphill and when you stand on the green and look back you can appreciate how good the hole is. 13 is downhill and straight forward, 14 is a tour like hole and 15 is a 120 yard par 3. The new holes on the back 9 can be described as garbage, tricked up and you find yourself asking why am I playing here. As a former PGA golf professional and PGA TOUR CADDY I think the owners screwed this up. They would of been better off putting the $$ into the original golf course which is way more playable and enjoyable. As a matter of fact I would even do a consultation on how to improve the original track. All it needs is a little lipstick to improve this gem. My only requirement would be a 30 minute class on how to treat people that keep you in business and an apology to my friends for the unfortunate incident by the man who said he was the owner . Anything less than that and we will not be back!
Worst Ranger Ever
Course was mostly empty, so the ranger was following me around the course, as he was on my hole for 3 out of 6 holes, and then chased me off the course for playing an extra hole. I've had bad encounters with this guy before but this was the worst. If they have a ranger on the course you will have a better experience anywhere else.
Beautiful fall golf
Have played this course for the first the is year and have gone back at least once a month. For late in the fall this course was in great shape, fairways were green and cut well. Some of the greens had some dead spots but nothing too bad. Staff was very friendly and we were in and out in under 5 hours.
Nice public course
I always enjoy playing at Pine Hills. It is a challenging and fun course.
Customer Service Problem
I am 68 coming here since I was 16. Occasionally come to play 5 hole Buzzard Course for practice which I did today about 3:30 PM. Just had new shaft put on driver wanted to try it out. No one here in front of or behind me on the Buzzard course. Regular 18 hole course low play today. Hit 3 balls off 1st tee as trying to get feel for my repaired driver. On Hole 2 little old man with a cigar drives up and holds up one finger. I said, what, he said one ball. He proceeded to watch me this hole and the remaining 3 holes to be sure I hit one ball. Also learned they now charge $45. to golf here, top prices for poorly maintained course badly in need of large money infusion that will never happen. I will never, ever be back mainly because of the old man;s harassment with no one here. Meanwhile the remainder of the course where there were actually people playing was not being watched by anyone.
Terrible Conditions
The layout of this course is very fun and appealing. Green fees were $45.00. I would be happy to pay this if the course were manicured to meet expectations of the green fee price. Every green has spots that are burned out. The fairways are very patchy and lots of dead spots. Overall, the conditions were pretty bad. If you are going to spend $45 to play, do it elsewhere. This course should be offering winter rates at this time to reflect the horrible shape of the course.
Huge Potential. Bad maintenance.
The views and aesthetic of this course are great. There is no difference between rough and fairway. Every green has burnt out spots, with a few areas just plain shotty.
With proper upkeep and grounds maintenance, this course could be worth the price. $35 on a weekday morning with these conditions is criminal.
Great course!!
This is my favorite course to play at. It’s both challenging and rewarding!! Staff has always been friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge!
Look elsewhere
I have played here a half dizen times over the years and will not return. The condition is not close to acceptable even at a steep GN discount.
The greens are wildly inconsistent and burned out in many areas. Worse (to me) is that its often difficult to discern the fairway from the rough. This speaks to the care given to the grounds.
I took two pics that would not upliad. One of an average green for the course and the other of an empty weed filled greenside trap with ground under repair noted. We wondered how long the "repair" was taking given the surrounding growth.
Unfriendly staff and sloppy course condition
People were rude even from check-in. Very unaccompanying and plain rude. The course layout is decent but they do not maintain it at all. The greens were slowest around. I am not going back to this dump.
Don’t waste your money
This course was a cow pasture everything from the unfriendly pro shop attendant all the way to the starter not doing their job the course is a mess. they put no money back into the course and it shows, Find somewhere else
Thank you for your review. We apologize for the unnecessary rude treatment and would like you to know that this is not tolerated at our course. Please email us at carolteetimes@gmail.com to further discuss this situation. Again, we are so sorry for your negative experience.
