Virtues Golf Club
About
Virtues Golf Club (formerly known as Longaberger Golf Club) in Nashport is Ohio's no. 1 public golf course and it's also ranked in the top 75 public golf courses in America. Situated about an hour's drive from Columbus, the Arthur Hills design tumbles across rolling hills, stretching from the ridge top down to the valley floor. Wide, undulating fairways flow seamlessly to immaculately manicured greens bordered by beautiful mature trees. The setting will make you feel as though you've been transported to southern Appalachia. You'll be greeted with stunning panoramic views everywhere you turn. Be careful though because the dramatic slopes make the golf course just as challenging as it is scenic. Multiple sets of tees keep Virtues G.C. playable for golfers of all skill levels but no matter which you choose to play from, a bevy of uneven lies await you.

Beautiful Layout
18 Beautiful holes of golf. Bunkers were a mess for our round, but it rained the day before. A little over priced. You use to get better amenities with your purchase of golf. Everyone use to be treated like a member, not so much anymore. Seems to be about just collecting greens fees. As for the greens and course, one of the best if not the best public course in Ohio. Had a great time and will be back.
Best course in Ohio - no contest
Beautiful course, awesome layout, great pace of play, great condition, can't say enough about this course. You won't find anything like it in Ohio. It's doesn't seem right how cheap it is for the caliber of course.
not great for singles
You never see single tee times now for booking, seem they would rather have no golfers than a single. friends would love to play on day off, but no single tee times. Maybe why they are losing money?
Disappointment
Probably the least enjoyable round of golf I have played in many years. I haven't been to Longaberger for a few years. But, have always treasured the rounds played there previously. More than an hour drive and cost of round makes it someplace not often played and makes it a special occasion when I do. Too k my son there for a late afternoon round before he heads back to college. Played first 3 holes fine. Then got to four tee and literally 3 groups waiting on the tee! Figured after that mess things would open up, never did. Always 3 groups on each hole. At the 4 hour and 35 minute mark we were waiting on 16 tee. Out of daylight and patience we quit. It should have been a grand evening golfing with my son. Instead it was a stressful grind. Bigger concern is staff didn't really seem surprised when I reported the time issue. As in they now load up the course trying to get as much money in as possible. Appears it is no longer a special place to go for a top notch round of golf.
Great day playing golf
Very nice course. Course doesn't have houses or other detractors around when playing. The club house is great.
Worth the trip!!!!!
Drove down from the Cleveland area about 170 miles and was worth the trip. The next time we will stay & play. First time playing the course so we were very excited about the chance to play. This is one big golfing facility. Has plenty of practice areas to work on your game. Putting, chipping, bunker play. Nice clubhouse with a friendly staff. Nice restrooms on the course and a cart girl coming around bringing drinks. The course itself was in great shape and would have gotten 5 stars except for the people playing the course who can't seem to repair there ball marks on the greens. The greens for the most part had a lot of unrepaired ball marks. The greens rolled nice & true and had some good pace to them. This is by far the best golfing facility I have ever been to. Will come back. Longaberger. A true gem !!!!!
Fantastic day!
One of the greatest golf courses in the country! I dont see how a course can get much better then this. Great views, fantastic conditions and superb greens. Everything about this course is 5 star! From the clubhouse, smooth carts, perfect course conditions and very challenging but fair layout, this course is worth a long car ride to play!
Play here
It's everything you here about and more, must play.
What a course!!
Great golf course...could be a Private Club anywhere!! Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Course has GREAT views starting at the clubhouse. None of the holes have parallel fairways. Several holes have forced carries to the fairway are greens. Wide fairways, lots of rough until the trees come into play. Greens are large with a large amount of undulations to navigate. Played as part of the 9 Stars of Golf package. Super package!
Amazing
Phenomenal course and staff. I will be back as often as possible.
Great Course!
Was traveling on business from California and was the first time I played golf in Ohio. I had heard good things about Longaberger and decided to make it my first play. Glad I did. Really enjoyed the layout of the track. Felt like on each hole, I was playing a different course. For the most part, no 2 holes were really the same. Lot of nice pastorial and forested views. No homes are around the course, which is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. The area had received a lot of rain in recent weeks, but had held up well for the most part. The conditions were good overall and greens rolled true. Overall, a fun play. Even better being I got a Hot Deal. All in all, absolutely worth the play.
Worth It
Course is as beautiful as advertised. Great staff. Only recommendation for fellow 20+ handicappers is to play the white tees. It's still 6075 yards. The blue at 6500, which my fellow (better) golfers played really made it a tough day for me. You're golfing with friends, don't shortchange yourself the experience to keep up with the group. Trust me, the course is difficult enough. Play long at your home course, not here.
For reference, gold is 6856, black 7243.
Not worth the 5 hour total drive.
With 10 minute tee times you would not expect to wait for the group in front of you as early as #2. A 5 hour and 10 minute round provided lots of waiting. we would have been looking to play this in 4 hours 15 mins. rangers were basicly invisible. We saw the starter on 12 and asked if he could speed up the group in front of us. never saw him again. When you play a hundred dollar course, pace of play is paramount. Easiest way to ruin a round is slow play!!!
this course has great features
Took my son-n-law there for his first time playing this course and absolutely loved. Can't wait to go back and play again later in the summer!!!
Great layout average conditions
Love the layout of this course and the terrain. Wasn't thrilled about the shape of the greens. May have had a lot of play after a lot of rain. Also got put behind a group of 24 guys from Cleveland. They were playing their second 18, and playing a scramble format with cart path only. We had a late tee time and finished in the dark. The problem was the course was not packed and me and my partner could have easily been put off the back. We asked but we're told no. This easily could have cut an hour out of our round.
Fun Course!
The course was in great shape. The staff was incredibly friendly. It's a player's course and the practice facility is excellent. If you are looking for a really fun place, look no further.
Beautiful scenery
I would highly recommend you play this course at least one time in your life. I am a terrible golfer, but the course is worth it. Only issue I have is it seems like people didn't repair their ball marks on the greens. That has nothing to do with the course, just the lazy players. I will definitely be back to play.
premium course
Played course for the first time and enjoyed it very much. greens were rough because of recent aeration, but rest of the course was excellent. We were not rushed because there was very little play that afternoon. Only negative for me was the high thick rough.
Pristine ...
I played 36 holes on 5/12/15 and it was fantastic. In spite of wind gusts up to 35MPH, it was a great experience to play here The course was in primo shape, and the facilities were excellent. While this is a challenging course at any time, playing in such windy conditions made it even more so. Keep the ball in the fairway and you will love it. The pace of play was very good, and the grill was fantastic..
Slow!
The course was in great shape following a large tournament which I was very pleased by. The starter allowed 2 groups of 6 out in front of I is, and combine that with a two-some of beginners and it was a 4:45 round for two in a cart. Pleased with the course, not so pleased to be set up for failure by poor management.
3 groups waiting on every hole from #4 onward? Yeah I don't think so
