The greens were top dressed with sand. There are huge drainage problems. Greens that did not have much sand on them were really slow. This used to be a great ORLANDO course. What happened to it? If I were the owners I would try to sell it to Universal Studios so they would have a golf course to compete with Disney. Otherwise this will be overgrown with weeds soon.

We deeply apologize for your experience. There is still much work to do in returning MetroWest to a premier golf destination. We appreciate your feedback and patience as Hampton Golf corrects many of the issues of previous management.

The grass in the rough was too high. You will not be able to find your ball if you don't hit it in the fairway. We lost a few balls. I'm an average to below average golfer (like most golfers) and the condition of the rough made it hard to locate balls.

What happened to this course?

Layout has always been excellent. RTJ.

Tee boxes are in horrid condition

grass clippings on greens is just pure laziness.

staff appeared irritated to be alive. no signs of any management around.

I've recommended this track to many over the years. I've even brought clients occasionally. Not sure what happened but reflects that ownership doesn't really care.

Pride of ownership is apparently not a value of the owners. the customer experience is worth more than this.

good luck.

This is a Robert Trent Jones course that has some really well laid out holes. However, the course has not been taken care of very well. The roughs were incredibly long. Greens were in tough shape and the course was very soggy. But they didn't have it set as cart path only. There are easily 5-7 courses in the immediate area that offer better bang for your buck It makes me sad because this course could be really nice.

I have played this course many times. I haven't played it all in the last two years. I was shocked at the condition of the course. I realize the greens had been punched a couple of weeks ago. But the rough had not been cut for a very longtime. If you missed the fairway you were lucky to find your ball. The greens were dead in many, many places. They had tried to cover those places up with green sand. Lots of weeds on the greens. The traps were just mud holes. Not maintained at all. I will not play there again until it has been restored to the condition it once was. At $19 dollars it was way overpriced. Very disappointed.

Word is that this track is on the mend and had made big strides - I'd call that an overstatement. While you can see the effort going in to it's recovery, there's still a long way to go.

Several greens are very badly burnt out and they are beyond slowwww!! Fairways are in average shape, the rough is brutal. Bermuda grass that has been allowed to grow - good luck finding your ball in there if you miss the short grass. Certainly not helping pace of play either.

Played late afternoon as a single and the course was practically empty - moved around pretty quick until a cargo shorts clad slow 3-ball with 4+ open holes ahead and no etiquette put paid to that - seems indicative of the clientele that now frequents this location.

I'll be prepared to visit again in 6 months if the reviews continue to reflect a marked improvement. If things look about the same as they did today at that point, it's a course that will sadly fall of the rota. Shame what the prior management companies allowed to happen to what was one of the areas great little gems

I always drove by this course on the way to my friend's house a few years ago. The lush, green grass of the course would catch my eye and I knew that I wanted to play there sometime in the future.

Finally, I booked a round and I was thrilled with my experience. The staff was very attentive, helpful and made me feel welcomed for my first trip. The course was wide open and challenging for an average player like myself. On the back 9, there's a hole that looks out over the open landscape and you can see a towering skyline of downtown Orlando off in the distance.

I went around 10am on a hot Tuesday where the course was virtually all mine. I'm not sure how busy it can be on a weekend, but if you're up for the heat, I would recommend a round during the day.

I've spent far more money to play other courses in the area that are in terrible condition compared to Metro West. I think the price for my round was an incredible value and I see myself returning here many times in the near future.

We played the front nine holes and found the greens in poor condition - burned, uneven, dented - but most annoying was the fact that there was no signposting on the course - and there were one or two situations where you could go wrong. Also, there was no detailing of the hole on the score card, no signposts with the hole layout at the teebox 's or GPS in the cart, hence very little to go by. Takes part of the fun away.

Metro West has, for years, been a wonderful course to play because of its design. The problem has always been the course condition which is not great at the moment. At the current on line price, it is value for money.

Recent management change has course looking better but it's still got a long way to go. Greens are decent. A little slow but true. The range grass/sand is pretty bad. Just got some new balls but they are restricted flight. Range is about 300+ uphill so not sure why they did that.

The management change hasn't helped the standard of service. It was probably better with the previous group but the course was just atrocious under them. These days the cart guys aren't as friendly. They don't go out of their way and judging over a couple of visits now...they are basically just not interested in being there. Pro shop is barren. Guys in there are ok. It's close to home and it's as I said...just a place to strike it. Sad as it used to be one of the nicer courses in town.

I've played MetroWest many times. It is a great course for the money. Some areas around the greens are not in the best shape but for the money you have to expect some of that. Only course in Orlando where you get an elevated view of downtown Orlando. It is pretty wide open so average golfers will have a great time there.

I was pleasantly SHOCKED to discover elevation on a central Florida course! Don't get me wrong, it's not exactly mountainesque, but it was a nice change. I am sure the course has seen it's better days, but the course is in fair to good condition, and I see it improving. There were a few rough holes but that's expected. I will return in a heartbeat. Great time. Staff not so friendly. Not exactly rude, but just seemed really annoyed that you are there. We loaded our own clubs following the round because nobody was around and it was about noon (good! I saved on the $5 tip! Ha). Great value and a great time. Will most definitely return.
