Seen better days!
I was very surprised to see the conditions of this course. Bought my round and a buddy's round on GN and nothing was said about aeration on greens. Normally, there is a disclaimer. That wasn't the problem. I wouldn't say the greens were aerated... They looked dead to me, only roots showing. Felt like putting on concrete. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED, as I normally enjoy my rounds out here. My return is normally 4.5 for the course, but until they get this problem, dead greens, sand trap greens, who knows what's going on out there, under control, I am not going back! My first question next time will be, how are your greens?
friendly staff
I was impressed with the staff's courtesy, professionalism, and very warm friendliness. He helped me find right size merchandise easy and efficiently. Of course, the course is fun to play, as always. The green will be in better shape soon as they are aerated/reseeded. A good course!
Terrible Course
First and last time to golf this course, greens were brown and had no grass while the know it all pro in the Pro Shop tried to explain it was the recent weather patterns that affected the greens...
Course conditions
Tee boxes and fairways lacking in grass. Something happened to the greens and they were horrible and disappointing as there were very new and supposed to withstand all condiions and disease. Was like putting on old, worn out astro turf. Won't go back until I hear from someone else conditions have greatly improved.
What happened to Coffee Creek?
Well it has been about two years since I drove up to Coffee Creek to play. I heard last year that they replaced the greens and they looked great. I always thought it was a nice course with fairly good greens.
I don't know what happened, but the greens are terribly diseased or dead, and the fairways are just fair. The staff was friendly, the cart path in good shape, but playing it was really difficult. I'm shocked actually - and this explains why Coffee Creek is showing up on the Hot Deals again.
Check before playing - this was really disappointing.
Terrible. Stay away
The greens are in the worst shape ever. Can't putt without the ball rolling all over the place. Not even worth the discount.
worst shape it's ever been in!
Every green was eaten up with some.sort of fungus and almost dead. Really dry and brittle. They should not be charging full price for this course right now. Would not recommend.
Improving but slick greens
Very windy and dry. My drives rolled forever. Greens haven't come in yet, but should be great soon. Friendly staff who are all welcoming to visitors.
Lo how the mighty have fallen
I've been playing Coffee Creek off an on for 5 or 6 years, usually around 10 rounds a year. A few years ago this was one of the better public course in OK, especially two years ago. When I played here a few days ago though, it was in the top 5 worst conditions I have ever seen at a golf course (the worst being also being in OK, though I golf all over the country). The ground was rock solid (this is green May, not August) and the greens are all but destroyed by what I can only assume is the plant version of ebola. The fairways had decent coverage but LOTS of bald spots/rocks, etc, but it can not be overstated how terrible the greens were. Hopefully these guys will restore this course to the quality I saw a couple years ago, but skip this place in 2014. I get that courses can fluctuate in quality, but if they do, the price should reflect what you are getting.
Tough Putting Surfaces
Nice course, except for the greens. I don't think I have ever played a course with greens like these. Hopefully they can grow the greens out some and make them slow down a little.
First time
Played this course for the first time on 4/18/14. Course was in great shape and I really enjoyed it. I liked the back 9 better than the front, simple because it felt more grown in with taller trees. it helped that the sun was going down and the weather was perfect. The help was friendly, but i didn't get to try the food and drink. I like the driving range; however, the range is too close to the holes and I didn't feel truly safe either while hitting at the range or playing the nearby holes. The value was good. I will play again.
Nice course
Course is in good shape. Greens are really fast. Played twilight and we must have picked a good day, we started at 5:15 and finished by 8:15.
Below Par
The course was rock hard, it was like hitting off of cement. The greens were the same, even uphill put were rolling several feet past the hole.
They need to do a lot of work on this coarse before I play on it again.
Greens were unputtable
I am hoping that it is just the time of the year, but I never in my life seen greens play like they played yesterday April 5th, 2014. They were the fastest greens I have ever played, but not in a good clean fair way, but in a manner which if you were above the hole, you could not stop the ball without it blowing 10-20 feet by the hole. I have never seen the type of grass before, I would bend over to get my ball and as I normally do put some weight on my putter as i bend on one leg, and these greens were so slick that my putter would slide and i would almost fall. I never once made or saw a divot, and the group i played with was all around 5 hcp players. The grounds crew still had pins at locations which were in no way fair, I had uphill puts that literally went passed the hole and then would come back down to a spot that was further than the original putt. I had to focus on not 3 putting instead of trying to make putts, it was laughable. The layout was fine and the fairways fine, just the greens I had an issue with. When the greens are that had and no spongelike action whatsoever, there just shouldn't be pin placements on the crests of hills. I am hoping that this is just a seasonal issue because I have always enjoyed Coffee Creek, but not yesterday.
winter time
Not much grass no rough, but the greens where really fast.
New greens are doing good. Course was in very good condition.
Greens need a little attention to maintain consistency.
Greens were very good. Fairways need a lot of help.
Green fee with range token was 40 dollars. We've played many 40 dollar courses that would put this one to shame.
Well maintained course. Challenging holes.
Greens super fast. Took a little getting used to for right pace.
new greens
New dwarf bramudy greens are challenging. woukd b moreenjoyable if cut closer to ten or eleven on stemp meter. Ball woul not curl so much when it slows down at the hole.
