Amazing views
A little short in yardage for me for the price of the course.
Check out crooked river ranch
Beautifully distractive scenery. Well maintained for late December! Greens pretty smooth and cleared. Bunker sand graded nicely and dry. First and second cuts well defined.
Located NW of Redmond OR, well kept moderate difficult course amongst beautiful views of distant mountains and nearby valleys and gorges where the Crooked River flows. Friday was a crowded day but play was consistent and not much delayed. Very basic accommodations and practice facilities.
Much Fun was Had!
This was my first time playing here and I am suddenly disappointed that I hadn't done so years ago!
The course had a challenge for every aspect of my game - not a long course, but certainly one that requires some shot making.
Fairways were a bit long and wet due to the summer weather so roll was limited, but that made the course feel like it played longer that it is.
Greens were hard to figure out, but fair.
I would definitely play here again.
Sunday afternoon round so kind of slow. I played with a local who said mornings and weekdays are much quicker.
Better than ever
I used to play this course a lot when I worked there summer of 2017, and then it was a fine public course, not in great shape but I've always enjoyed the layout and scenery, arguably the most scenic course in Central Oregon. I'd much rather look at epic canyon views than a housing development.
This year the course was in remarkable shape, so much better than it used to be and better than the other courses around at a similar price. RJ at the pro shop was super friendly. I don't play $150 courses, but I cannot imagine the conditions and experience are three times better, I actually paid less than $50 to walk. I could nitpick and mention the prarie dogs on #14 or the tee box on #8, but those were the exception to the otherwise surprisingly good conditions.
It definitely doesn't have elite amenities, but there's snacks, drinks, gear in the proshop, an on-site restaurant, etc. My pace of play was excellent, under 3 hours walking, but I started at 4pm in 95 degree heat, it can definitely get backed up, it's a short course with some drivable par 4s that make you wait.
If you didn't have to cross the road I'd give the layout 5 stars. Some holes like #5 and #13 are absolute gems, and every hole feels unique. At under 6000 yards from the tips it's short and quite walkable, especially considering most every tee box is right next to the previous green. There is more elevation than you might expect, particularly at the end of the first 9, but it's doesn't make it too tough to walk.
I'm planning a central Oregon golf outing with friends from out of town, and this course is one of the 3 we will play, is there a better endorsement?
Fun track!
CRR is always an enjoyable place to play. The course is in great shape right now, and greens are rolling smooth!
It is a much more gentle course and forgiving than most of the courses in central OR. So peacful, and lots of wildlife.
Beautiful grounds
Really enjoyed playing this course. The fairways & greens were really well maintained. Fairways were generous and lush. Greens were fast & challenging. A beautiful course that I look forward to playing again.
Crooked River Ranch GC
Forty five minutes north of Bend is Crooked River Ranch GC. On your drive into the course, it's well worth a few minutes of your time to stop at the perch that overlooks the course and take in the view, it's gorgeous.
Crooked River Ranch GC has got some good holes, starting with Hole 5 which is considered their signature hole. The tee box is perched on a rocky promontory on the edge of the canyon and provides great views of the Crooked River flowing 150 feet below. Holes 8, 10, 13 and 17 all scored high on the entertainment scale.
Spring conditions were pretty good, wide, open fairways, light rough, the greens were holding shots and putts rolled pretty consistent throughout the course. I counted around 24 bunkers on the course and there is essentially only one water hazard that comes into play.
Crooked River Ranch is a course that some would consider short in yardage but it's long on fun.

Not a bad track
The course is in fairly good shape, and has a nice, pleasant character to it. The views of the Crooked River Gorge from some of the holes are pretty specular. Although water does come into play on a couple holes and there are a couple doglegs here and there, it's a pretty easy and forgiving course for the most part and can be a bit bland at times. The green fees I paid on a Saturday morning made it a not so great value considering what I paid for other tracks. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, a fun easy play and if I could find a better deal, would play again.
