Poorly run, but good course
We showed up pro shop is closed, got the cart keys from a girl behind the bar. No starter. No one to explain anything. pro shop is in a trailer. No one even talk to us before our round and then on the 11th hole someone driving a minivan ran out onto the fairway and told us it was cartpath only wearing no uniform, but claiming to be the manager of the course. Extremely rude and tone of voice was aggressive and argumentative.
Coming Back Nicely!
I was member for several years and then left because the course had gone down hill. The new owner and superintendent are doing a terrific job. I can't wait to see how it continues to progress. Greens, bunkers fairways are all superb. Tee boxes and rough around the greens (chipping areas are spotty.
Great course
I have played many times Always enjoyed the challenge
Beautiful golf
Nice course, but very little service for the price. No driving range no club house,, only port a potties. Basically no services, but the cost is the same as golf courses that have all that available. Love the. Course, and it's very convenient to where we live, but only play there when we can get a deal.
Thank you for playing Paupack Hills!
You may not be aware that in January of 2022 we had a six alarm fire in our clubhouse and lost the entire building which housed our executive offices, ballroom, pro shop, cart garage, and treasured local restaurant, On the Green Bar & Grille.
We are currently in a rebuilding process for the amenities for our club. The new restaurant was built on immediately after the fire on our own dime and so our golfers and patrons would have the amenity of food.
The new smaller version of On The Green opened in October of last year even though we are still operating with no insurance relief from the fire.
As far as deals, our green fees have gone down $15 on 18 holes over the last two seasons.
This year we also host weekly one hour golf clinics on Tuesday and Thursday for $10 to the public.
Residents of Tanglwood also receive a five dollar discount on play.
We would love to see you back to play our course and truly appreciate your patronage.
Trash
I get it’s fall but they’re charging 85 dollars for 18 at this place that’s crazy there might have Been 3-4 greens that weren’t absolutely covered w leaves and various nuts (found a cashew on one of them). Luckily I got the deal but they gotta up their game charging that much pshhhh
Play it while you still can
Going out of business sale.
Apparently, if somebody doesn’t buy the course, they are shutting down. What a shame.
Mountain golf at its best
Great views, good conditions. Have a burger at the pub
Fast round on a Monday afternoon
Booked a last min round on Monday afternoon: course was empty and finished 18 in about 3h 15m. Tees: pretty good shape, but likely we’re still where they were all weekend, showing a fair amount of divots, esp where irons would be used. Fairways (the few I played from lol) we’re in great shape, generally. Only a few soft/marshy spots. Roughs: varied. Where sunny, good grass growth and well kept; under trees, bare and dirt/rocks. Greens: tricky. Started very slow and got faster as the round went. Several un-repaired ball marks (cmon folks, takes two min), but also noticed many un-repaired deer tracks. And the deer and fawns to go with them! Cannot fault the course for deer tracks on the green, naturally!! Bunkers - another matter: concrete, or worse, puddles. They should have been machine raked by this time after the last major storm, so this was a disappointment, but all in all, still 4/5 stars from me.
Course was in great shape
Not many golfers on the course so played a quick round. Course was in great shape. They have not rebuilt clubhouse from the fire but the temporary facilities were fine.
Beautiful course with nice views
Decided to play this course when I visited my mother in PA. This was my second game of the year. First being in Missouri. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The best part was that this was my 15 year old daughter’s first time ever playing on a course. She had a blast. We plan to make a habit of this course whenever we come down from New Hampshire.
We are sorry you jad a poor experience with our staff. Our Pro Shop is currently run out of a trailer due to a 6 alarm fire in our Clubhouse in January of 2022. We are also running on short staff since that very same fire.
That said, it is common for play to be sent out from our Bar/Restaurant. Especially later in the afternoon.
Our cart path rules are clearly posted daily on hole #1 and hole #10.
The gentleman in the SUV was the Superintendent of the course and he is the one who clearly posts those cart rules. He is also the one who keeps this course looking amazing. So please excuse his plea to you as a respectable golfer to honor our Cart Path Rules. We hope to see you again and have a better experience. Thank you for playing.
