Approach shot on one of the holes.. shows the average putting green condition Photo submitted by dmhj4evr on 09/30/2013
Ok to play, but in transition.
Decent.
Some tee boxes in transition. The transition areas are not in play. Fairways were average. Most greens, except two or three were very good.
Disappointing
This course shut down to upgrade their greens a couple of years ago. Yesterday, it seem like they were growing grass. The greens were extremely slow and if you run your hands across them you would think you were in your backyard. It’s hard supporting the city courses when the don’t take care of their investment. It’s under new management now and losing steam.
Winter golf
Cart paths torn to pieces, winter grass, clubhouse in renovation, still a great day.
The gentleman checking people in was nice and helped me navigate the course.
The course just makes me want to come back in the spring and probably a few times in the winter.
Pricing was good, holes were easy in the first half relatively straight forward, then there was back 9.
Have fun, give it a try when they finish the club house.
Fun Course
My son and I played here mid-morning on Sunday. To be fair, we received a lot of rain on Tuesday and again on Friday leading up to round. Regardless, the conditions were pretty sloppy... There were at least a few dozen areas throughout the course with a significant amount of standing water (fairways, bunkers, etc.). They have drainage issues, so I wouldn't recommend playing if it's rained within 3-4 days of you booking a tee time.
It was also very cold and we were on a frost delay, however, they didn't have a starter so it was extremely chaotic, There was a back log of about 8 groups in line to tee off at the first hole. I overheard the gentleman in the pro shop say they were under new management, so I would attribute much of my experience to growing pains. Rather than wait in line we just booked it to the 10th hole and ran through the course without any delays.
I would recommend playing here, especially for the price. We enjoyed the course layout, and by all appearances, it was in great shape given the time of year we played it.
Weather conditions
I selected a tee time built around tge weather. 10am tee off. However the course booked people from 830 and on. Due to the weather there was a hour frost delayed. Which i expected. But not to be held up for an hour because the management decides to book people earlier than the weather allowed. And i was behind a sixsome. Yes 6 golfers 3 carts in frint of me. What a debacle and cluster.
Not as bad as everyone says
I played here with some friends for the first time and I've heard many things from this course is old, greens are bad, or the course is in rough shape.
To be honest, the course was pretty good compared to others I've played. Greens were great and some of the holes were awesome to play.
I would definitely play again, but this time not in the pouring rain. But I had a blast!
Nice layout
Good layout. Greens were in. Ice shape. Cart path will beat you up.
Great time
The course was in very good shape, the back nine is more challenging than the front. The cart paths need some work, but overall the course looks good. Lots of hills which can make it difficult when teeing off as it can be difficult to know if the group ahead is truly out of the way. It has a large driving range allowing for plenty of room to spread out. The staff were very nice. We had a group ahead of us who were very slow which made the trailing group hit into us a couple of times given the lack of visibility mentioned earlier. Overall we were pleased with the course and would definitely return.
Decent course, nice layout
The course was decent. The fairways were alright. I thought the greens were really sandy and slow. If they worked on the greens, it could be a lot better experience.
Nice Layout
This course has a nice layout. A good blend of hills, bunkers, and some blind shots. I only played the front 9 and at the time the greens were aerated. However, the greens still rolled true and well. I am looking forward to getting back to the CLT area soon to play the full course!
Beautiful greens
My first time playing this course. It was pretty nice. The cart paths are almost non-existent and very, very rough. However, the fairways were in good shape and the greens were awesome!
Father's day
Somec of it was Father's day. Lots of people so they ran out of carts and one of ours broke down. Probably took 5:15 hours to play 18 holes. Course layout was interesting with lots of elevation change, some water.. Couple holes were hidden so it was hard to tell when group ahead was clear and it was safe to hit. Carts paths were pretty rough. Staff was friendly.
I call them GolfNow cartpaths
