Approach shot on one of the holes.. shows the average putting green condition Photo submitted by dmhj4evr on 09/30/2013
Wide open fairways
If you like hills and can't see where your ball is going then this is your course... The sprinklers were left on hole 1 box so we were going to start and tee off from 9 when we were yelled at a worker at course... He then turned sprinklers off... Grass along fairways were long and thick... Lost many golf balls though found some that other golfers couldn't find that were probably lost before us
The course was in fair condition
The course had some very muddy spots on it on several holes, which were caused by all of the rain that we have had lately. Most of the tee boxes were in Good shape. I believe that tee box on either 15 or 16 definitely needs repair and it has been this way for quite some time. The greens were also in very good shape and proved to be a little challenging. Even though it rained the entire time, we finished the course and we really enjoyed it. The staff in the pro shop were very courteous and friendly.

Course conditions were fair. Greens were slow but no bare spots on them. Troon is just getting started at the course. Pro Shop doesn't have a lot to offer.
Staff was very friendly. I think once Troon is caught up from taking over the operation of the course it will improve.
The layout of the course has always been good and still is.
Disappointing!
The price increase is not anywhere near justified. They were out of carts upon our arrival. There was no management on start times and the course was backed up more than I’ve ever seen there. The round was over 5 hours and there’s nobody around to enforce pace of play. A group of 5 was let out and nobody cared.
Play here if you have no other options
Poor conditions from the moment I pulled into parking lot. It didn't get much better on the course. Not well marked. After playing the front I was going to leave. I didn't have any plans that afternoon so I stayed. The back holes were better than front. However, still needs plenty to improve.
Disappointing
This course shut down to upgrade their greens a couple of years ago. Yesterday, it seem like they were growing grass. The greens were extremely slow and if you run your hands across them you would think you were in your backyard. It’s hard supporting the city courses when the don’t take care of their investment. It’s under new management now and losing steam.
Winter golf
Cart paths torn to pieces, winter grass, clubhouse in renovation, still a great day.
The gentleman checking people in was nice and helped me navigate the course.
The course just makes me want to come back in the spring and probably a few times in the winter.
Pricing was good, holes were easy in the first half relatively straight forward, then there was back 9.
Have fun, give it a try when they finish the club house.
Fun Course
My son and I played here mid-morning on Sunday. To be fair, we received a lot of rain on Tuesday and again on Friday leading up to round. Regardless, the conditions were pretty sloppy... There were at least a few dozen areas throughout the course with a significant amount of standing water (fairways, bunkers, etc.). They have drainage issues, so I wouldn't recommend playing if it's rained within 3-4 days of you booking a tee time.
It was also very cold and we were on a frost delay, however, they didn't have a starter so it was extremely chaotic, There was a back log of about 8 groups in line to tee off at the first hole. I overheard the gentleman in the pro shop say they were under new management, so I would attribute much of my experience to growing pains. Rather than wait in line we just booked it to the 10th hole and ran through the course without any delays.
I would recommend playing here, especially for the price. We enjoyed the course layout, and by all appearances, it was in great shape given the time of year we played it.
Weather conditions
I selected a tee time built around tge weather. 10am tee off. However the course booked people from 830 and on. Due to the weather there was a hour frost delayed. Which i expected. But not to be held up for an hour because the management decides to book people earlier than the weather allowed. And i was behind a sixsome. Yes 6 golfers 3 carts in frint of me. What a debacle and cluster.
ATV
You need an ATV instead of a golf cart to play this course. Cart paths are awful. Lots of blind shots, so too many close calls.
Not as bad as everyone says
I played here with some friends for the first time and I've heard many things from this course is old, greens are bad, or the course is in rough shape.
To be honest, the course was pretty good compared to others I've played. Greens were great and some of the holes were awesome to play.
I would definitely play again, but this time not in the pouring rain. But I had a blast!
Nice layout
Good layout. Greens were in. Ice shape. Cart path will beat you up.
