First Time Playing

A true test of skill.

Rolling Green is a true challenge. A unique and enjoyable layout, this course appears to be attackable with the recent clearing of the majority of trees on the property. What you don’t realize though if it’s your first time playing RG is that the challenge that awaits you is at the putting surface. Anything less than a flushed shot from a fairway lie makes keeping your ball from making a quick escape off the back and sides of the green a challenging proposition. This is for two reasons. The greens are extremely slopey. They feature massive swales coupled with sneaky, barely detectable breaks. The other reason is that the greens are what you would call “glass.” The ball sounds like it lands on a concrete floor covered in a thin throw rug when your approaches reach the green. Playing this front of green yardage would be my #1 tip to first time players. Lag putting to a high level at Rolling Green is ESSENTIAL to scoring well. This course blew me away. Gorgeous, wide open vistas, beautiful downhill tee shots, cavernous green side bunkers, one of the best golf bridges in the game, and a friendly, social atmosphere. The practice facilities are top notch and the service is outstanding. If you ever have the privilege of playing a round of golf at this Delaware County gem, do not let yourself miss out. Rolling Green is a 10/10.

Keep the ball below the hole!

Whatever you do keep the ball below the hole. Pristine conditions with a difficult but fair layout. Some of the most undulating greens in PA.
