Nice course, slow pace
It’s winter so conditions were as expected but the greens were firm and quite fast, which was nice. My only real complaint was that they allow fivesomes. The first tee was open when we started but we quickly caught up to two fivesomes ahead of us and the rest of the round was excruciatingly slow. Why any course allows fivesomes is a mystery to me. It just slows the whole day down right from the start. But the course is a very good value for what you pay.
Many thoughts
Greens way too fast for a $30 round course. I played with high handicappers and they 3-5 putted every hole. I finally instructed them that the rules ask you to pick up after Triple bogey.
Round took 5 hours for a MONDAY!
My cart faulted out after 3rd hole. Had to abandon it and run back to the club house for another one.
A couple of gimmicky holes that were just nonsense.
Literally don’t think they watered all season. I couldn’t get a strong footing on any sloped fairway.
Only food is a vending machine with candy and chips. I’m not kidding.
But overall for a round under $30, it was a good deal.
Good for the money
I was told Greer City took over this course 3 years ago. Been playing here 10-12 rounds over the last 6 months & management has been doing constant course upgrading. Fairways in good shape with consistent green speeds. Enjoy this course the more I play it.
Pace of play was atrocious!
First I will start with the staff in the pro shop was less than friendly, but I was still excited about what the course may have to offer. Upon completion of the second hole. I came up behind a group of 16 golfers. Remind you I played solo with a cart. The group would not allow me to play through. And so I decided to just skip to the next hole. I then came across 8 more carts with players stating that the guys on the last hole and they are all in one big group. I stated that that shouldn’t be allowed and they stated that the pro shop said they could do 5 man groups. So they decided to spread out a 16 man group over three holes. I was only able to play 2 holes in the front nine I had to eventually call it quits and go to the back nine. I then ran into two gentlemen that allowed me to join their group. We had a good time on the back nine. I was very disappointed with the pro shop for allowing this ti go on. Upon complaints tot he pro shop it was told they did not have the staffing to take care of the pace of play. Wish I could have tried out the front 9. It looked nice…
Golf and that's it.
This course is about 30 minutes from my house.
I love the course layout as it has challenging holes where driver is not the play (Number 2), as well as open holes that you can grip and rip. (Number 12)
They used to have a restaurant in the club house with solid food. Greer Golf no longer offers food or beverages. Apologies, they do have a vending machine.
We had a random guy hop in front of us while we were in the fairway of number 2.
Pace of play for a foursome was right at four hours, on Labor Day.
Would only play on a HotNow deal and make sure to grab food and beer on the way.

This was my first time playing the course. The course is in great shape except for the greens. The greens had been punched some weeks ago and were still a little bumpy and extremely slow. I think once the greens grow back in this could easily rate as a 5 star course.
Fun track for sure
It’s got a great, very interesting design. Course was in great shape, except the greens, which must have been punched in the past few weeks, we’re running very slow and were somewhat tough to putt on.
Will definitely play there again!

This course has the best fairways in the area. The greens were recently punched and sanded. The front nine is very challenging with lists of elevation changes and very few flat lies. Overall a very good value.
