Course was in decent enough condition and the staff was fine. The only problem was, there was no marshal and the round was ridiculously slow. If you're out just to get your swings in, it's a cheap time killer.

Course was in decent shape but a nice day of golf was ruined by a group of drunks in front of us. They played slow all day and even after the ranger drove by and saw the gap and I am sure he could tell they were drinking he said nothing. I know we get a lot of tourists and some are not really golfers but drunks on the course should not be tolerated. When reported staff did not seem to care. I live about a mile away and will probably not play course again.

This is at best an executive course but it was quite challenging. It was early March but the fairways were in good shape but the greens were not ready for prime time. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and folks i met on the course displayed golf etiquette second to none. The experience was a tad bit better than average. Having the choice, I would not play it again, too many BETTER choices in the area.

Hey, Marc. Thanks for taking the time to review our course. We regret to learn that the course conditions were less than favorable at the time of your round. We are always working to improve the course conditions and give our golfers the best experience that we can. We're glad that you had a good experience with our staff and fellow golfers. We hope to see you again!

My daughter and I played this course on our vacation and had a very good time. The course was challenging enough with all the water and sand traps but not overwhelming or frustrating. We will definitely be back during our next trip to this area. Might even book it twice.

Nice course. Liked the layout. Challenged by numerous sand traps surrounding most greens. Water in front of 9 and 18 greens makes for challenging shots into the green. Only downside is very rough cart paths. I know it costs money to keep them up but numerous potholes and/or no paved path in places takes away from the overall experience. That being said I would definitely return. A good golf value for the money; less than $ 32.00 for 18 and cart.

Didn't pay much so I can't complain, but pace of play was ridiculous! Many players at such a great rate and an unexpectedly nice day in February.

The course is nice with water on many holes which makes it picturesque and challenging. Not flat like many of the beach courses. Seems to always be busy.

Valley at Eastport Golf Club (Little River, SC) checks yes in every conceivable category on a vacationing golfer’s list.

If you’re unsure where to go when in unfamiliar surroundings, the saying goes “ask the locals”. I did just that and was directed to Valley at Eastport Golf Club. With about a hundred golf courses in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area, this course manages to make itself memorable for several reasons.

From the pro shop to the last putt, the positive vibes continue to come. All golfers are aware of how important and influential an atmosphere can be to the holistic experience of a round. Sadly, all golfers are also aware that it isn’t uncommon to encounter harsh and unpleasant crew members that can fire you up prematurely to shanking your first ball. In the case of Valley at Eastport, the southern hospitality pours from the staff like gravy on biscuits. Their helpfulness is matched by their professionalism as well. Getting on the course is quick and convenient. The pro shop and starter are organized and in sync.

As your cart comes to a stop at hole 1, you’re privileged to a panorama that encompasses most of the course. In the terms of the real estate business, the course features an “open floor plan”. It is a layout that beautifully juxtaposes plush green fairways with off-colored rough. The course also manages to maintain its impressive aesthetic throughout the winter.

Playability is one the biggest components that will factor into what type of mood you leave a course in. That being said, you should be smiling as you change out of your golf shoes in the parking lot. The course theme runs throughout every hole and the experience certainly feels complete by round’s end. A touch of water here, a pinch of sand there, a tree or two and you have yourself an appetizing recipe of golf. For the amateur player, the difficulty is digestible as well. It is especially enjoyable for those “student drivers” who haven’t quite figured how to keep it straight. This is because the rough is extremely playable and there are few hindrances to an eyeline to the flag on shots at the green. It is definitely a forgiving course, and late into the round you may even find yourself playing with the same ball you started with.

As you can tell, I’m a huge fan of Valley at Eastport. There’s nicer courses (not by too much), but overall the staff, playability, and price make for an enjoyable experience every time. Do yourself a favor and go with the safe bet before risking your off day with a course you’re unsure of.

Some holes, water in play. Short par 3s. Tough finishing holes for other than experienced golfers. I played the round by myself in 3 hrs and 12 mins. Walkable course.....no significant hills. VERY fast greens but puttable. I'll go back.

lots of tee boxes which is nice. very difficult approach shots. most greens are well guarded with huge bunkers so you better have a high ball flight to get over them. rakes are scarce. you might have to walk 20 yards to find a rake. they need at least 3 per bunker and not one. rakes are cheap guys! lack of rakes slows play.
