Santee National Golf Club
About
Santee National Golf Club possesses all of the charms of the Carolina Lowcountry but it is also nicely contrasted with highland terrain. The course sprawls across rolling hills covered with moss-draped live oaks that demand accuracy. Both the scenery and the challenges continue with pristine white sand bunkers that stand out against the lush greens. There are also five sparkling lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The front nine is wide open but the course narrows as you move onto the back nine and it also becomes more wooded. It is a tough golf course but more forgiving than it seems. As the only Golf Digest 4-star rated course in the area, Santee National has a longstanding reputation with locals and it is also popular with visitors.

Bob Nerbun
Outstanding course layout and excellent conditions of greens fairways, and green fringes. Staff was very very helpful. Course play was great.

One of my favorites
First, some of those 4 stars can and probably will be 5 at some points. The course is in very good but not great condition. That will certainly improve (it’s only April). The greens had also recently been tended to so there was some sand still on the surface. It was no big deal, the greens ran nicely and were pretty quick, I’d guess they were running around 10 for my round. The fairways are nice, the tee boxes are nice, really nothing to complain about with this course. I love the layout as the front 9 is more like a links course and the back 9 is a woodlands course. There’s a nice mix of flat and hilly, straight and dogleg. Santee National is a fantastic course if you like variety all in one 18 hole round. I highly recommend.
Great track for the money
Fun and challenging layout. Course was in excellent shape, greens were true and tricky. It was the best out of 3 courses we played this weekend.
Average at best
Got tee time as a single after calling pro shop and being assured I would be paired with twosome or threesome. Even though at least three threesomes went off ahead of me (I was an hour early for tee time), guy in pro shop said he couldn't pair me with them because of manner in which I got tee time (GolfNow). Played course several times over year on way to Masters, but won't be back after this. Course is OK, but customer service not so much.
Average at best
Booked tee time as a single, have done before and pro shop hooked me up with twosome or threesome. Not this time. I asked and was told I would go as single, despite two or three threesomes ahead of me. Played here several times during Masters trip, won't be back. And my cart kept quitting every hole.

First time to play. very nice. good range and balls.
Great layout, big greens and a nice roll to them. Will play again.
Grest Saturday Outing!
Can't pass up a Saturday round with 73 sunny degrees and a GN Hot Deal at Santee.
Course maintenance good, greens smooth and receptive and couldn't ask for more.
Great course, but some doglegs unreasonable
Second time playing the course and really enjoyed a sunny, fun day. The course was in very nice shape, and the greens were pretty fast and rolled great. Fairways and bunkers were all in very good condition. My main problem is with the layout. There are many holes where the dogleg is just too close to the tee boxes, and you're forced to take a 3 wood off the tee. I'm a short hitter for 50 years old, averaging about 210 with my driver, so I imagine longer hitters may even have to take an iron. The trees on most holes are full-grown pines which make them impossible to go over, and unless you have a very pronounced hook or slice, going around the corner isn't an option in some cases. Therefore, you have to take a shorter club off the tee, and then you're hitting a longer iron for your second. It would be nice if they cut down some of the trees on the corners and replaced them with bunkers to give a little more risk/reward. Otherwise, the staff was fantastic, and the facilities, carts, etc were all first-rate.
Santee National
Course was in excellent condition despite the previous day rains. The only complaint is the foursome who were told that they were going on the PGA TOUR in the coming weeks. After making the turn there was a pair in front of me. They were a bit slow because the son hit from the back tees and the father from the white, but this foursome who had to be at least two holes ahead just held up everyone who was behind them and moved even slower by the holes. This was my only gripe.
Great Course - Highly Recommend
2nd time playing this course, and I will play again when I'm in the area.
No problems. The course was in good shape for this time of year.
Spring golf
Course was in great shape for early March. Rough was still brown, but fairways and greens were in good shape. Nice electric carts with GPS tracking to keep players away from sensitive areas.
Love this Course
A little rough around the edges but in good shape - excellent architecture- makes you play every club in your bag!
Great southern course
Greens were in great shape for the winter time and course was in great shape too. Pro shop employees are always nice and friendly. I enjoy playing here.
