Open but challenging
Nice open course to work on your game. Par 3 10th is tough.
Great course!
Overall, this course is definitely worth it. There isn’t a whole lot of challenge if you are a scratch golfer. Pretty wide open and straight forward holes. But great value course, for sure!
Could be a decent muni course
Pretty poorly run course - even for a muni track. Tee times don’t really matter as they tend to squeeze players who walk up to play in between schedules tee times so the pace of play can be slower than the average public course. It’s the closest public course to most people in downtown and the suburbs west of downtown. Because of this, the skill level of golfers who play here is all over the place. So the pace of play generally reflects that too. Most recently played here a few days ago and the fairways were in solid condition and the greens were slow but rolled true. Rough is almost entirely made up of weeds. Muni course so the fairways are huge and missing the fairway isn’t a big deal because you’ll almost always have an angle into the green. Sits on the edge of the river but they don’t take advantage of potential views and fun holes with the water. Don’t think this course is worth the cost. It’s a $20 course that could easily be a $30 course if they added trees or more fairways bunkers and had a starter and ranger on the course.
Great shape
This course is in great shape. The greens are immaculate condition along with the fairways. The sand traps need improvement but overall a great open course.
Fun open course
Fun open course. Able to break 80 past two times playing here. Staff is great at getting you out on time or even earlier.
High-level Muni
Live & work 5 miles away, have always enjoyed this public track. Teed off mid-day on a Saturday and saw a lot of golfers but pace of play was nice. Fairways are in tremendous shape and the greens are in better shape than I have ever seen them. Staff are always friendly and professional. I'll be back, and often!
Fun round, great value!
Fun, wide open layout. Played with son and son-in-law on a morning following an all day rain, so the course was soaked. Had a blast, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will play again if I am back in Chattanooga.
Moccasin Bend
Great Course for the money. Course does not drain well extremely wet throughout. Enjoyed the round just too wet.
Great day on the course!
First time playing Moccasin Bend. I loved the open layout and found it to make for a most enjoyable round. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Other than the extreme wet conditions (heavy rains the day and night prior to our round) nothing could have been better.
