Following the trend

This course, like many others since the covid shut down, have followed the trend to raise rates since the courses were full. This course is $73 for 18 holes on the weekend, not counting the additional $8-10 of fees. The hot deal still cost $68. This is in my opinion is $25 overpriced for the quality of the course. Fairways are not coming in, the greens are fuzzy and slow and some of the greens still have bare spots and patch work on them that have been a continuing problem for several years. The course is exactly the same as it was pre covid when rates were $45 a round. Pace of play was great because there was no one in front of or behind us, we tee'd off after lunch. Good people but the course is way overpriced.

Not Worth 80$

The only reason anyone plays this expensive course is because it’s the only public Course in the area that’s actually 18 holes and has tee times If the Lewisburg rec or pebble creek had tee times and a starter it would be no comparison

Over Priced

Played over 50 rounds here. Used to be the best value course around - now they want $70 for a very average or below average course. Greens are good, everything else decent. No wonder the parking lot is empty on the weekends - no one pays $70 for a local muni. Henry Horton better course and $20 cheaper. Sad times at saddle.

Always fun

I've played SCGC multiple times. It's always fun. The front is more interesting than the back. You can hit lumber all day long on the back. It was in great shape on this day before areating.

Cybernetic cyborg creation

In Tennessee to visit my dad and brother. The state park in Chapel Hill where we play usually had a tournament, so we tried this place instead. It was a nice enough course, but:

- all players had to give a email address, just to play. They said it was for cart rental, so we said we could walk instead. The kid at the register, just said we needed it to walk to. I didn’t want to give then my email, so gave them a burner one. Sure enough, had 5 spam emails about golf in middle Tn by the time I got done with round. They sell your info. The kid said “just unsubscribe”. I shouldn’t have to be inconvenienced.

The golf carts had that geo-fencing GPS. I have played golf for 30 years, and know the rules and edicate to where you should never take a cart. The fencing was set up to where if you went a foot off thr path, it locked the cart up. It drove my 80 year dad crazy.

I will never play this course again. I want a authentic experience without all the technical crap. It is a ball and stick game, not a PS5.

Over Priced with an Ego

Had a rough Saturday at the course. Greens rolled ok, had plenty of rough patches, better than the last time; where they had the fringes completely torn up around the greens and still pair full price without and heads up.
Anyways, this Saturday it was a parking lot out there, my twosome skipped 3 holes which had groups backed up on them, played 15 holes and still took over 4 hours. It’s a nice enough course, just needs to have $20 taken off the price, a Marshall on the weekends, and some better greens keeping.

Misleading Rates. Didn’t include Cart. 6 hr around

Misleading rates. I booked for 150 total for two people on golf now. But I arrived to the course they charged over 200 with carts. Ridiculous. No mention of that before, and this course is not worth $75 walking. Also, no Marshall on a Saturday morning. The 3 some in front of us was slow as heck and it took us 6 hours to finish. Overall, pretty horrible experience.

Awesome Course

played a threesome at 7:30 on a Sunday and had absolutely no pressure, no one was paired with us and never waited on a hole. Played 18 holes in 3 hours. Course layout will make you think and not pull the driver out every time. Will play here again. Food in the clubhouse was not as good as it looks in the pictures but the staff was very friendly.

Not worth it

Parking lot half full on a weekend. You wonder why. Overcharge for the quality of course, $75 to play this place?? Go back to pre-Covid prices of $40-$50 a round and it will slammed packed like it used to be. Much better options that charge less then Saddle. Used to play every weekend now only come over when we need a last minute tee time because they are never booked up!!

Grunge play

Raised prices and decreased value.
Few days after rain and the course felt like a swamp
Club house in worn out shape with minimal service. The “Order a coffee, charge you Starbucks prices, hand you a cup and tell you it’s around the corner in a gas station dispener” kinda service.
Slow play with no Marshall to speed up game play. Close to 5 hr round with no stop at the turn.
Few trash cans along course. No beverage cart.
Greens and tee box below avg shape.
Couldn’t get off this course fast enough.

The people running the course we’re great to deal with. Everyone was friendly and happy. However, the price overall was quite expensive compared to other courses in the area. The food at the turn was alright but not the best. Although I don’t expect steakhouse quality at the turn so all in all it was a good experience. Would I recommend this course to someone? Probably, but not my first choice.

u314164244440,

Thank you for playing Saddle Creek Golf Club and providing us with valuable feedback. We will always strive to do our best in the operations and maintenance of the course. Our price is comparable to most in our area for the conditions. Our turn menu is limited to brats or hot dogs as they are quick and readily available. We have a fantastic menu of food options, and hope you give us another try.
