Ted Rhodes Golf Course
About
Ted Rhodes Golf Course sits on the Cumberland River's North Nashville banks, and was originally named the Cumberland Golf Course, after that body of water, back when it only had nine holes, first laid out way back in 1953. A 1992 redesign added nine more holes, and nowadays golfers get 18 holes of links-style golf, complete with lakes and bunkers that make for good times. Big greens provide big targets for approaches on this walkable golf course.
The par-72 Ted Rhodes Golf Course measures 6,669 yards from the Blue tees, and offers a fourth set of tees that play to 5,010 yards for the ladies. A round of golf kicks off big on a par-5 hole that comes in at 555 yards from the Blue tee, one of two long holes, with the back nine also opening on a 534-yard hole. With that in mind, the golf course concludes with a relative whimper, on a par-4 hole that measures just 432 yards from the Blue tee.
Something to look for on the Ted Rhodes Golf Course is the fauna: Turtles, fish, muskrats and beavers all make their homes in the golf course's lakes and river.

Great place to play
Course was a little sticky on the old (back) nine, but it was due to all of the recent rain and the low-lying fairways were unable to drain and dry completely...other than that, completely happy!
Great Course, Great People
I play this course regularly and have not been disappointed. With heavy rain, course will be wet, but this tends to be a universal golf course problem!
Water logged
Serves us right for trying to play when it had been raining forever. I looked like a mud ball when finished with 9 we didn't even play the back nine as we were told it was even better.
satisfying
course was in good shape, couple holes in back nine pretty wet. all in all this time of yr, fairways and greens in good shape. clubhouse grill had killer burgers and all staff were friendly , wanting players to enjoy there day of golf.
Excellent greens!
Had a few opportunities in 2017 to play the course, I have really enjoyed it. The greens are always in excellent condition and always a friendly staff . Thank you Ted Rhodes
Very nice winter round
Booked online and arrived over an hour early; there wasn’t much activity so I asked to go out early which was approved, but a threesome of older gentlemen had just gotten to the tee box so I joined them; very slow round due to our slow play which could have been avoided had they sent me out earlier on my own; staff was very friendly but not too concerned about pace of play; course was in good condition considering winter season; greens were green and rolled well despite many ball marks that needed repaired; challenging, strategic layout.
Greens are always good
Played here several times this year, will be back for more.
Extremely friendly staff, course conditions were very good. As usual, the greens were excellent!!
Caught in the Sunday Crowd
Glad to see the everyone came out to play but I got scared stand on the tees knowing balls could be coming from different directions. Nothing did but I didn’t feel safe playing the course for the first time. I quit on 10th after a father and daughter came out of nowhere in front of me on 8th.
Ted Rhodes Golf Course
Course is in Great shape! One of my favorite Metro courses! Two Thumbs Up!
Always Enjoyable
Always in good shape, played after rain the night before and it was path only, not a problem, a little soppy in some areas but nothing horrible. There were workers on the course taking measurements for irrigation around the greens, like to see improvements being made.
Always a friendly staff and feel welcomed.
Greens were a little fuzzy but rolled pretty nice, I’ll play here every chance I get.
Decide for yourself (in a good sense)
Ok, so golf courses are highly subjective. One man's dream track, is another man's (or woman's) ...not so dream track. As far as condition & staff, first rate. Even after a rain the day before, the course (and greens) were in excellent shape. I only gave the course layout "3 stars" because of personal preference. Lots of water hazards, which makes it aesthetically pleasing. But it just didn't wow me. Others like it. It gets good play. $14 with a cart on the golf now app is righteous. I suggest playing it once. See if you like it. More links style-ish to me. Whereas I prefer more scenic / mountain / tree lined action. $14 though. Just sayin
Nice place to play
Course has a great layout and challenging on some holes. The greens were great and sand traps had new sand.People in club house are friendly and the pro Audie Johnson is really good at giving lessons and will help you in any way he can. Be prepared to encounter water hazards----- they have plenty but are fair.I enjoy playing the course and will play it many more times.
Nice for a Public course
Typical Public course. A group of 6 guys jumped in front of us on 10. They were obnoxious. We were a twosome , so we waited. All in all a positive experience. Will I play there again? Probably not, but you should play at least once!
Best Muni I've Played
Always wary of municipal courses. Went there based on prior reviews. Course is laid out well. Bermuda fairways were in great shape. Greens were pretty good for a public tract just a bit slow for my taste. All in all a worthwhile round for the money.
