Chippewa Golf Club

I hesitated to drive to Chippewa golf course because it was located in Doylestown. I finally mapped it and realized it was only 25 minutes from Cleveland. So glad I did. Course is in great shape. Employees were very welcoming. Played 18 with a friend in 2 1/2 hours. Will definitely return.

My group of 6 golfers traveled 2 hours to play this course because of the great ratings on GolfPass. This was our experience:

- Starter sent us off on time but asked us to call pro shop if the 2 groups in front of us tried merge and play as a sixsome.
- On the first green, they came together as a sixsome so we called. The ranger came out and talked to them.
- On second tee, they regrouped as a sixsome again, being out of sight of the ranger.
- Five holes and 2 hours later, a group from another tee box told us we needed to call the pro shop and complain as they saw us waiting on every shot. We called and were told they would deal with the players at the turn. And if they didn't comply, they'd be kicked off the course.
- When we got to the turn, a member of the group in front of us began yelling at me in front of the starter and ranger. The starter and ranger just laughed and basically told the guys to "behave and have fun".
- I asked the Ranger what happened to the "comply or be kicked off" situation and all he said to me was "we're trying our best".
- The insanity continued for the remainder of the round since they regrouped as a sixsome after leaving the 10th tee.
- It was a 5+ hour round with multiple groups stacked behind us all day thinking WE were the problem.
- We had planned on staying afterwards to eat and drink. But because it was such a miserable, frustrating day with absolutely no help from the staff, we decided not to stay and spend anymore money at this course.
- We won't be returning either.
- We were 6 female golfers and this course's staff could've done so much better. Such a disappointment.

Nice track - gets lots of play - several challenging holes - great staff

Overall I can't say enough good things about Chippewa The course is great, practice area is outstanding. However, 90% of the time that I play, pace of play is always an issue. They tend to let five-somes out and if a higher handicap golfer is playing, the course will prove to be very challenging (especially the back 9).This problem could be solved if they had a marshal patrolling the course but they don't. Also, since the rounds tend to be long, it would be nice if they had a beverage cart, but don't offer one. The only other issues is that the tee boxes have a tendency to be sloped, so it's hard to find a level spot to hit your tee shot. Other than that, it's worth the drive to Wayne County as it is a great layout and a reasonable price for the course. Just plan on a five hour round, make sure you buy enough to drink before you tee off and at the turn, and make sure you can play uneven tee boxes.

The course was a drive from my home but well worth it. From the nice and inviting clubhouse and porch to the friendly employees was a nice first impression. They had nice carts with gps built in and nice selection of holes. A couple of holes had power lines but was a none issue for me. The Bermuda Triangle was real and fun got 2 strokes added to my score. The course had just been aerated and sanded which everyone is doing this time of year was not that big a deal either. I will definitely play here again.

Really enjoyed this course. For a mid handicap golfer there were holes that you could score on and also some very challenging holes. Pace was decent, the staff friendly, I played poorly and can’t wait to come back and give it another try.

This course is the perfect balance of price, well-manicured, value, scenery, difficulty, everything. It is very reasonably priced given that it's about $10 more than courses that have no business charging $50+. It is one of the nicest courses in the area. I cannot think of one that rivals it. The only downside (that I've experienced at every golf course) can be the pace of play. Again, I've never played a course in the last 2 years that doesn't suffer from pace of play. I'm not sure what happened to rangers, but we need them more than ever now.

Course & staff were great from check in to starter to halfway. Will look togo back!

The staff is always amazing, the conditions are second to none, there is nothing bad to say about Chippewa and the staff.
There are many other public courses that should take notes from Chippewa and the staff there.

Loved the course too far of a drive to be playing multiple time in a year.

I love playing this course. It fills up on the weekends, but the course is in excellent condition and it's just a fun course to play. Electric golf carts are in excellent condition and fully equipped with GPS giving you distances and location of carts ahead of you. The beautifully landscaped course just makes it a pleasure to play.
