Quiet, patient round
My round at Schneiter’s Riverside GC was quite enjoyable and pleasant despite the pace of play; in the front nine, there were three 5-some groups of older gentlemen which allowed me to be patient and not rush which was different for me; the back nine had what appeared to be a few groups of high school girls who were all walking by kept me focused on patience and relaxed; the course was in very good shape; the greens were very quick and the fairways were quite good for early season; the staff was friendly and helpful; the only real negative point was the golf cart (#46) which did not move very quick at any point; I think the speed was that of a walking golfer, but it added to my patience for the round.
Nice course
Well kept course, big trees all over, well kept greens, Fighter Jets fly over from time to time, that is fun, that can also disrupt your game if your a sensitive type. Very fun course.
Second experience was great
Today I played Schneiter’s Riverside GC with a friend for the second time in about three weeks; today’s round was very good with the exception of two young men (pre-teens) who were ahead of us for the front nine; as I checked in, I was greeted and assisted promptly and courteously; we were sent out early which was appreciated, and the course was in excellent shape; this round allowed us to enjoy the diverse layout and challenges; I would recommend this course to all golfers, but expect slower play as this course is very popular with all age groups and skill level players.
Schneiters
Course was in great shape. Greens were a little slow but rolled true. Nice playable layout.
Nice course! Bad staff management of tee times
Play the front in 1:30 and the back in over 3 hours!! They sent out twosomes out the back in front of people playing eighteen so it made the back so slow and not good to play!! Course was in good shape but how the managed the tee times, makes it so most people won’t come back!!
SLOW play, beginners/walking paradise
This was the third time I have tried played Schneiter’s Riverside GC, and there are two consistent themes: extremely slow play and fun, risk-reward layout. The course has been in great shape each time, but due to a water issue, the fairway of hole #11 (par 4) was closed and set up as a par 3; otherwise the course was in great shape. The layout is what has brought me back twice despite the slow play I experienced the first time I played here back in the spring time, and although it is a short course, the layout requires strategic play which why I have returned twice. However, the pace of play is worse than tournament play due to what I believe is caused by its short length which draws a high degree of golfers who walk and the length and ease of walking draws beginner golfers that the challenging, risk-reward layout causes slow play for these newbies because of the tree-lined fairways and greens accompanied by several holes with narrow fairways. On top of that, each time I have played here, the clubhouse has sent out a 9-hole group on #10 in front of my group as we have made the turn, and each time these groups have been caused the excessive slow play that I expressed previously as beginners and/or walkers who don’t understand golf etiquette. For instance, yesterday’s #10 9-hole 4-some sent out in front of us, despite being in two carts, would hit multiple hack shots and then walk to them and hit again without regard to the group behind them, presenting no understanding of proper golf etiquette; it was frustrating. We had finally gotten out from behind two 3-somes (9-hole groups) on the front nine just to have this beginner 4-some placed in front of our group. Poor play by the clubhouse; our round took nearly five hours on a short course, but this has happened all three times I have played this course, and there hasn’t been a marshall to move things along.
I do not recommend this course to experienced golfers unless you are looking for a day on the course without concern for consistent play.
Home course, favorite
This is my home course, maybe 5 miles from the house I grew up in. Love it!
Very popular/busy course
This was my first round at Schneiter’s Riverside GC, and I was impressed with the course; it was challenging and required strategic play; the main issue with the experience was that the course was very busy and, therefore, slow due to players of all varying levels, many appearing to be beginners; another item that was frustrating is that they sent groups out in both the front and back nine which made it even slower; as I finished #9, I heard them call out a group to #10 which should never happen with a player/group rounding after their front nine; I would enjoy playing this course again, but my partner (a local) said the course is always busy which indicates it is fun and challenging.
Very much like a muni
This is an older course much like a standard municipal. The conditions were very good. Fairways, tee boxes and sand traps(not many) were in great shape and the greens were very smooth and easy to putt on. The terrain is flat and there are a lot of mature trees and shrubs. This is a great course for higher handicappers. It was great to see so many ladies there, many of them walking with pull carts. The layout is very simple and straight away. Locals could probably get a good deal but even with a hot deal on golf now, it seemed a little high for a course without a more challenging and aesthetically pleasing design. Good place for those learning, working to get better or who don’t feel like getting beat up by difficult courses.
Great place to play
Riverside course is very well managed, lush fareways, soft well kept greens with lots of trees, excellent challenges. Great value under $50.00 per round with cart, friendly staff that love to help with whatever you need. Driving range and practice greens are top tier for a public course.
Great Muni
Really enjoyed my round here. Weather was perfect for the day. This is a very played friendly course. Rough was cut short so very forgiving if you ended up left or right. This is a great course for beginner or intermediate golfers.
Great Course
The Schneiter family is amazing! Everyone here is so friendly, the egg salad sandwiches are my favorite! The course was in great condition. Some of the best greens in the state. We got to see a beautiful sunrise here too.
Nice course
Nice track very well kept and Groomed, and the Schneider's are fantastic what a great family Atmosphere
