Good COVID-19 round

This was a good afternoon round to get outside after a full week of work; I was paired with a 3-some which was fun; the only real complaint is that the greens had been plugged and sanded which caused inaccurate putting, but they still charged the full rate which I feel was somewhat unfair; we had to wait on a group who, luckily, only played nine holes, and we caught up to another group on #15 which caused a slow down as well; overall it was a good round but probably should have been discounted since it appeared the greens have about a week more to cure.

Slow, winter/spring round

The round started out well with nobody in front of me on #1, but on the #2 tee box I let another single play in with me because we were waiting for two groups ahead of us on #2; we were both walking and let a third single in a cart join in our group as well at the #2 green; we waited on every home thereafter on the front nine and two of us continued on the back nine where we caught up to a single on the #12 tee box who was let through a 4-some; we caught up to the 4-some on #12 green and waited for them in the #13 tee box where they told us it was a log jam in fro t of them so there was no where for us to go; they didn’t let us play through even though we only saw a 2-some in front of them in the #14 tee box; it was not appropriate golf etiquette which didn’t seem to bother the 4-some even though we waited for them on every shot up to the green on every hole thereafter.

Fun winter round

Had to play on Christmas Eve day since the weather was very friendly and provided a comfortable round; despite slow play which seems standard for this neighborhood course, the round was fun; I caught up to a 3-some on #3 and waited again on #4, but they invited me to play in with them since there was a 4-some in front of them; the two groups had some sort of best ball team game going on which indicated to me that I wasn’t getting through either or both groups of these older gentlemen; I did play in with this group of course members and thoroughly enjoyed the round; for winter season, the course was in very good shape except for the goose droppings on the greens.

Good winter round

It is always wonderful to play golf in the winter season in Salt Lake, but slow play was still an issue; the weather was threatening but playable, and I was able to move very quickly despite getting caught twice behind slower players who would not let me through; I caught up to a single on #7 who luckily stopped after nine holes, then I caught a 4-some on #12 that I skipped past due to weather (rain starting to sprinkle); I ended up skipping to #15 which I ended up catching a 5-some on #16 green but luckily let me play through on #17; I shouldn’t complain because I was only expecting to play nine but elected to pay for 18-holes because there wasn’t any visible activity when I arrived and got to #1 tee box; the greens hadn’t been mowed, were slow, and weren’t receptive; the fairways were very kind with lots of rollout; overall a good round,

Good experience, customer service was below average

We were a twosome hoping to get an 18-hole round with imminent rain coming and were told we would not get a rain check if it rained because we used the Utah PGA Golf Book for the round. Of course it wasn’t raining when we arrived or got done with hole #1, but then it started sprinkling but not enough to cause issue; we had a cart cover so we were fine.

On hole #4 it started coming down heavy so we parked under some trees and waited because we expected the rain/hail mix to slow drastically; sure enough, it slowed to a drizzle again and we continued, but when we finally finished our 18-hole round, the cart attendants were not friendly and glared at us for coming in later than they wanted to stay.

If we could have gotten a rain check, we would have stopped, but we were not going to give up $68 in green fees for three holes of golf. I am sorry they all had to stay late, but it could have been avoided if the course policy were amended.

Good Course, NOT the Friendliest Staff

We play Meadow Brook Golf Course every Thursday and have found the course to be consistently maintained with very good greens and excellent sand in the sand traps. The front plays longer than the back, but both sides have some interesting holes. They have some of the best practice facilities in the valley and a good restaurant on site. Overall, it is an enjoyable course that we would recommend. The club house staff is NOT THE FRIENDLIEST you will find and don’t seem to care if you play here or not, but this does not keep us from coming back weekly.

My new home course

Moved from Salt Lake in October and needed new home course. Aside from Glendale, which has probably one of the best practice facilities in the city, Meadowbrook is prob just as good. In fact, the pitching/chipping area IS better. Staff can be a lil ignorant at times but not a game changer. Grille has good food. Hot dogs are pretty tasty. The course is challenging especially from the tips. Has variety of holes to give you birdy opportunities but can also take some shots from ya too. The course is pretty well kept, greens are good not great. It's an overall good course to walk, and good value.
