Lakeside Golf Course
About
Originally a nine-hole course when opening in 1966, Lakeside Golf Course expanded to 18 holes in 1993. The course, located close to downtown Salt Lake City, boasts views of the Wasatch Mountains. It is suitable for players of all abilities. The course was built on relatively flat terrain that features plenty of water. Half of the holes have water hazards coming into play. Lakeside Golf Course makes accuracy a priority rather than distance with several out of bounds areas and holes that are short and tight. The facility also has a practice range as well as putting and chipping areas for golfers to use.

Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Utah (2019 #13)
Reviews
Great value
Fairways and greens were in great shape. Tee blocks were good for a muni course. Don’t let the cheap prices fool you. This is a steal for a causal round.
1st time
Came to Utah to visit Grandson.Got off plane and went straight to golf course.Had great time.Grandson shot very good
Hot round of golf
The weather has been excessively hot recently, but our round of golf was quite pleasurable; the pace of play was okay on the front nine and sped up once we passed the twosome in front of us at the turn; there was nobody for a few holes in front of us, and the twosome was not affected with us in front; the course was in good shape overall, but the tee boxes need some attention; the greens were fantastic, and the fairways were very playable without issue.
slow
We were paired with a guy, his sister-in-law and his daughter. Very slow and he was trying to teach his daughter to play. They did not know how to play ready golf. We were also behind a 5-some with three kids who were very slow. We did not finish the round!
Nice place to golf
Nice place to play golf. Golf course is in good shape, good pace of play. Pleasant golf course to walk!.
Nice for a round
This is a nice place for a round. The course is in great conditions and the locals are friendly. it is not the most luxurious course in the Salt Lake area, but it is definitely good for a round.
Great greens
The greens were firm, fast and rolled true. The greens are old school - smaller, with several elevated. The course is not hilly, thus it is more walkable than most golf courses.
Our two groups had a terrific golf day!
Slow but good round
Lakeside GC has become a regular course available in the GolfNow app, and our group enjoys playing the course; the course was in very good shape, and as ales the staff is very welcoming; it is a good experience every time; it has become very popular for all levels of players who both ride and walk; unfortunately this can slow the pace of play; one issue that we have noticed is that despite the busy play which includes many 9-hole rounds, we often get to the back nine to find a new 9-hole group (1-4 players) has been squeezed in between rounding groups which delays the round more; one must learn to have patience and be prepared for tournament pace.
Fun winter round
With cool temperatures, it seemed the round might be affected considerably, but as the day progressed, the round at Lakeside GC was quite normal and enjoyable; check in was prompt and easy; the course was in good shape and played well; the weather did not deter people from coming out so the round was a bit slower than expected but not bad; barring busy days. It seems I enjoy each round at the course.
Varietu
This course has a really good mixture of challenging holes as well as easier ones to keep your head up
Busy, slow but enjoyable round
I play Lakeside GC often since it is one of few courses available on the GolfNow app, but I really enjoy the course; the layout provides ample risk-reward opportunities, and the staff has become more ch more friendly and accommodating; the course is in great condition after the heavy rainfall we have had recently, and it is a wonderful experience every time; this course is a very popular course for the locals which often leads to slower rounds; our front nine was rather slow with three groups in every hole on the front nine, but the back nine seemed to open up as many of the lead groups apparently only played nine holes, until we got to hole #15 when we caught up to another two groups; we finished the round with four groups four groups on #18 which almost included a fifth group; that wasn’t a huge issue because the weather was fantastic and the course was in great shape, so our group (2-some & 2 singles) was not affected until the 18th.
Extremely slow autumn round
After the recent weather in the area, it was logical that Lakeside GC would be busy with a moderately cool, sunny day, but it resulted in the slowest round of golf I have played this season; there were at least two 4-somes in front of our 3-some group which regularly included all three groups on the same hole throughout the front nine; once in the tenth tee box, it seemed the back nine would open up, but that thought was quickly dispelled; the staff were very friendly, and the course was in very good shape — the recent weather (rain/snow) seemed to have helped the courses in the area; despite the slow play, it was a typically enjoyable round of golf at Lakeside GC.
Another challenging, fun round
Lakeside GC was its typical challenging course with greens that were a bit faster than normal; the course was in very good condition with rough that was thick enough that two of our group lost a golf ball off the fairway in the rough; however the fairways and greens were in good condition.
