Outstanding value on great course
Our group of 3 had a wonderful time on the Northern Neck. I hope that all Virginia golfers get to play the Golden Eagle sometime.
We will be back soon !
Beautiful golf course
This is a excellent golf course in the Tidewater region.
love this course!
First played this course July 4th,and have played it twice since.loved it the first time and even more now.the conditions are generally excellent for a mature golf course.great course design.it is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip to this delightful corner of the earth, and I came from Florida.
.
beatiful course
i'am a 12 hadicap and played from the whites and was still challeged..will play again.......
Diamond of Coastal Virginia
WOW..is what I can say. The greens were superb, fairways were flush. The elevation change at each hole provided various different types of shots. Both challenging and rewarding. Staff was friendly and quickly got you out on the course. Worth the 2 hour drive for me from Smithfield VA. I have found a new favorite course!!!!!
Beautiful course
Do yourself a favor and play this course. This course was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. The staff said it was an aged course but it did not show its wear except on the cart path with the roots from the trees. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape and the scenery was amazing. Some water comes in into play throughout the course, the par 5's are long but manageable and the greens have multiple bunkers surrounding them. Looking forward to playing there again.
Great fairways and greens
The Golden Eagle was fun to play. The fairways and greens were in perfect condition. However, the bunkers and cart paths need attention but I wouldn't let that stop anyone from playing the course. We ate lunch there and the food was good. All the staff were friendly and the service was excellent.
Super Dave
Course was well cared for. Fairways were smooth and the greens pristine. Signage to the course is difficult to locate.
Nice Course
The course was in a good condition. The sand traps (bunkers) had very little sand and were very stony. The greens had been aerated and wer not running very true. they were a bit bouncy.
what a great place
The golden eagle is a course where you must place your shots. I had an awesome time playing here. The greens were fast but receptive. The fairways were in awesome shape. The beauty of this course was amazing. Very scenic. I will be back to play again. The food was outstanding. A+ for this place.
Early spring round
Greens aerated, fairways not grown in yet, course was wet from abundant rain, so cart path only, breezy. Had fun as always. Love the course, but it has some very challenging holes!
Hard Course
I played this course from the blues and it is very challenging. Course is in descent shape but there were lots of leaves just off the fairways so I lost some balls that werent hit all that bad. Greens are very fast and were a touch rough so putting was difficult to say the least. Expected the course to be in a little better shape but we got a great deal so no complaints other than my score.
A challanging but fun outing.
The course was well designed and well maintained. It offered a good, challenging day of golf. I'll play it again sometime soon.
Very nice course.
Enjoyed the scenery and landscaping most of all....water, trees, etc. Good track. Would play more often if I lived closer.
Excellent greens-fairways too-soft dirt bunkers no sand
Played at noon on week day in 3 .5 hours nice to putt on geens that roll true and are maintained great price for a great course
A real test at any level
The course was in great shape perfect fairways fast greens. The greens were a test more break than you think. Great course
Well worth the $21 we paid thanks to Golf Now
This is a tight course with lots of character. The greens and fairways were in great shape and only saw a few people when we played. The fifth whole is definitely a challenge. Watch the red stake near the green. It is water you can't see otherwise.
Quaint, old Course....easy on the eyes
I thought this course was very nice. The views on some of the holes are spectacular, charming, old trees hang over the fairways, and the staff and clubhouse seem like 1960's Charleston.
Some holes are tight, some open up. A couple of long par 3s and short par 5s.
The grass on the greens confused me, but they roll pretty well. They are small, though. The bunkers need some serious work, but just stay out of them and you will be fine.
I liked it, it isn't as pristine as some of the newer courses, but its charm makes it feel like money well spent.
