Shocking that The Foundry is not a top 20 course in VA!!!
As an avid (former division collegiate) golfer and a proud member of The Foundry, I was nothing short of shocked to see it didn’t make the GolfAdvisor Top 20 list for the state of Virginia.
This course is a marvel in every way. The layout is surrounded by beauty and history. The greens are demanding and the bunker placements are perfect. Conditions are always amazingly pure and the practice facilities are just what a small club needs. Being an extremely private club, it’s not so easy for anybody to play. If you have the chance to join a member for a round... DO IT. It is, IMO, one of the top 5 courses in Virginia. Maybe I’m biased as a member... but you need to experience it first before making your own judgement.
Absolutely Fantastic Golf Course
Beautiful and well designed course that will challenge all of your game. The greens, if hit, you ball must be in the correct location or you will have no chance on making the putt. The greens are undulated, fast and perfect. Private course so you must be a quest. It's a challenge and a "must play".
Thanks for the review. Those lists are geared more towards public/resort/semi-privates.
