Stumpy Lake Golf Course
About
Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones design that provides a unique golfing experience. This scenic layout is routed across a 1,400-acre nature preserve that is absent of any commercial or residential development for miles. The golf course wraps around its namesake lake, which has a canoe and kayak launch as well as a fishing pier. Deer, fox, and eagles are frequently seen on the course and there has even been the occasional bear sighting. Water has a prominent presence throughout and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a layout that will force you to be creative with your shot making but it's still approachable enough for high handicappers to tackle with confidence. If you're looking to get in even more golf, sister club Honey Bee is located almost right next door.

Gorgeous view of Stumpy Lake Photo submitted by Realestateangels on 11/06/2014
Stay away as of July 2017
I haven't played this course since around May of this year and it has fell apart. The greens are in terrible shape, the worst I've ever seen them. I used to like this course, however the conditions will not allow me to play this for a long time. The other annoying part about Stumpy Lake is it seems as if every time I play regardless of time they are always cutting the grass. 2pm in the afternoon and an army of mowers are following the flow of golfers. It is super annoying not to mention the fairways are browning so they're just kicking up dust. I was extremely upset with today's round due to the constant sound of a mower and the bad conditions, so upset they I came up here to review the course as I barely book on golf now anymore Bc I most walk nine. Stumpy Lake is also having a tournament this weekend, the players are in for a shock. Extremely over priced for those conditions so please stay away
Stumpy
Stumpy lake is a nice course with a nice layout. Not too hard but can get in trouble if not careful
Greens are looking a lot better than they have the last couple of years. Now people if people
would just fix their own ball marks
The fairways need a little work, some bare spots and areas need to be reseeded.
It’s getting better
The course continues to improve, but the pace of play continues to slow due to tee times being to close together.
There was still no sand to fix divots. Golfers will try to do the right thing if you provide the tools.
good course poor weather
I love Stumpy Lake and looked forward to playing it. However the weather did not cooperate. It was cool and overcast. There were spots on the course that were very damp but no puddles. We decided to quit after 9 because our hands were too cold. We asked for a rain check but told we could not get one because we booked online. The online was great but not being able to get a rain check was very disappointing
Early morning Stumpy
Course was in fair shape for this time of year. Tees were a little bare but greens are adequate and rolled true.
Mud Pit
Have played this course many times and never been in this bad of shape. It has rained for a couple days here (6”) and the course was complete mud.
The course was 90* Cart Path Only ( I was also reprimanded by the Marshall for having one wheel off the path), so it was very slow. I played at 7:30 am by myself thinking I could play two balls and get through early. No one in front of me and still took over 4 hours walking back and forth all day. Then at 11:30 Marshall said you could drive in dry spots on the fairways????
It will be a while before I play here again.
u000007662320,
I'm sorry about our greens, We missed judged the weather for June/July. And we are working hard to get everything back to normal.
I'm very sorry about the grounds crew. With 409 Grass we have to wait till the dew burns off for us to mow them.
We would love for you to give us another try on us, once we are back to normal.
