Nice course except for slow play
Course in nice shape even though greens plugged several weeks ago. Pace of play only real drawback - played here number of times starting around 10:30am and never finished in less than 4.5 hours with lots of waiting - usually seems to be a couple of groups that are slow and marshall (when one is on the course) does not do much to speed them up
Lewis River
Great condition for this time of the year. There are bare spots in some fairways. Greens were excellent. They were probably 2 to 3 weeks after sanding. Good consistent pace on the greens.
Great course, firm conditions at the end of winter.
The course was in awesome condition, the greens being a little slower (recently aerated). The staff were friendly and helpful. I played this course a couple months ago and the greens were really quick and challenging. Excited to play it again when the greens are healed up from aeration.
Came down from yakima
Came down from Yakima to play golf with him. Neither one of us golf well , but enjoyed the round of golf and each others company . Last time I played this course with him was my 40th birthday. Plan on playing it again, but lot’s soon.
Lewis river
They aerated the back nine. No play allowed on the backside.
Much improved
Lots of tree trimming and other maintenance activity. Not a complaint....the opposite, it was much needed and excited to see final results. I love this course! The fairways were looking really good and the greens we so much better than the last couple of years. Hopefully the price doesn't go up as it is currently a good value. The food is excellent; the outdoors seating has a great ambience.
Overall fantastic.
Hidden Gem
The course is not long but has some very challenging holes .. Greens are quite ungulated and were very quick..
Takes a few rounds to know the layout
Tight course. Lots of trees. The fairways had some bare spots and bumpy lies. And the rough was clumpy. Greens were solid. Some real interesting tee boxes that create tough angles. I liked the variety of tees shots. Used everything from 5iron to Driver on the Par 4’s and 5’s. Feel like it takes a little more course knowledge to set up better 2nd shots.
Slow play hurts nice course
Like the course: greens are great, layout is interesting and challenging, fairways are good, tees just ok but pace of play is slow - minimum 4.5 hrs per round for most recent couple of rounds have played there
Slow day in the links
Course is nice but pace of play was dreadfully slow. It was one foursome clearly holding up three groups including ours and marshal did nothing to speed up their play.
Lewis River Golf - RECOMMENDED
Lewis River Golf Course is recovering from course maintenance procedures. The greens had been plugged and sanded creating inconsistent putting. However, the course layout is always a pleasurable challenge. The tree lined fairways reward shaped tee-shots with accessible pin placements despite some challenging sand and water hazard locations. The back-nine, at 560 yards longer than the front, can put a damper on a well played front-nine score. Still, a rewarding round of golf had by our foursome.
