Coachman's Golf Resort - Red/White
About
Located just southeast of Madison, Coachman's Golf Club boasts 27 holes of golf that were carefully sculpted from the wooded hills of southern Wisconsin. The holes make up three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Each course has a unique character, but they were all designed with players of all skill levels in mind. The golf courses are challenging but they will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. The Red/White combination was the first 18-hole course at Coachman's, with the Red nine built in 1968 and joined by the White two years later. Stately oaks and willow trees accent the course, demanding accuracy while also providing scenery. Challenging water hazards also come into play on several holes. In addition to the three golf courses, Coachman's also offers a driving range, putting green, and chipping area.

Great course
The greenest course that I have played this year in WI. Greens were in great shape and the fairways as well. Three 9 hole courses to play all with their own challenges.
Unfriendly Staff
I arrived 45 minutes before my booked tee time. I was a visiting the area and I arrived to the course much earlier than I expected.
At check-in, the pro shop staff was not friendly. Despite my request to go out earlier than my booked tee time, there was no effort made to allow me to play earlier with other groups that had two or three golfers in their group.
The starter, (a younger guy) was very friendly and helpful while I chipped and putted. He agreed to get me out earlier than my booked tee time.
I approached another starter (an older guy wearing a Wisconsin university hat) at the turn. He was very unfriendly when I simply asked him where the 10th Teebox was. He had attitude for no reason at all.
On a positive note, I was able to join a twosome about 15 minutes before my booked tee time. Rich and Chuck were very friendly and great to play with. They knew the course and offered helpful hints. They only played nine holes which is why I needed directions to the 10th Teebox I wish I had only played nine that day so I could avoid the very unfriendly starter.
Tee boxes were horrible
I would not waste the time and especially your money on this course. The tee boxes must not have been mowed in a month. I've seen rough at some courses shorter then that. Definitely not worth the $50 price tag on the weekend. I hate the fact that you end the front 9 on a par 3, then 10 is another par 3 and you finish on 18 with a par 3. The bunkers, if you want to call them that, were absolutely horrible and rock hard. Definitely will not be back till something big changes, and it's not like they're not making money. The place was packed. Trash can overflowing on every hole. I'd barely pay 20 for 18 with a cart there.
Don't be in a hurry
Coachman's Resort seems to be a favorite for the Illinois crowd -coming up for a relaxing golf weekend. Don't be surprised if you see a group of five (or even six!) out on the course. In our case, the group of 5 did their best to move along (with groups ahead of them, there was nowhere to go anyway). They tried to wave us through, but it was a logjam. We went into it looking for a relaxing, unhurried round, so it was no big deal.
Staff is very friendly. The course conditions are okay, considering the recent drought. Lots of hard conditions around the green, so it's like trying to pick a ball off of the sidewalk at times. Fairways were okay, and greens were mostly decent.
Hard to complain for the price. If you're out for high quality and strict etiquette and pace of play, go to the Dells and pay more. If you don't mind groups of guys hamming it up, smoking cigars, and sharing some music - you'll be just fine here.
First Time
The course was in excellant condition. The fairways were well kept and the greens were firm and smooth.
Pleasant Experience
Course was in decent condition, played quickly as several people let me through and location is easily accessible.
