Watch those fast greens.
Olive Glenn is a great course that I was pleasantly surprised to find was worth the money.
On the front 9 you start out playing with houses on both sides of the fairway for holes 1, 2, and then again some houses on 8 & 9, but just on one side of the fairway. The homes don't really come into play unless it's a really bad shot. The course then plays very open with minimal trouble off the fairways but you do come across the occasional water hazard or stream cutting through the course.
The back 9 continues to play open with the exception of a few holes with homes just on one side of the fairway. It feels like the course really stretches out as you start to feel like you are off in nature.
The course was in absolutely perfect conditions. From tee to green the course seems very healthy and looks great for the end of August. The greens were lightning fast even while they were very soft. My round became lost when my come back putts were anywhere up to 10 ft.
The tee box sign holes were large and very descriptive - a nice touch. They could use some above ground fairway yardage markers if I had to suggest anything.
The fairways are very generous and the greens are very receptive. Most of them are medium - large in size and do have slope in them. Almost every green is fronted by a sand bunker on each side the green making accuracy and distance even more important. Make sure to play Olive Glenn and enjoy what nature has to offer.
