Ledges Golf Club
About
The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley is tucked away in the Pioneer Valley, an area of western Massachusetts known for its lush, rolling hills. It is a favorite amongst locals since it is one of the best values in the region. The course enjoys scenic views that stretch to Mt. Tom and the Holyoke Range. It is on the shorter side at just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, but the dramatic changes in elevation make it seem much longer. Most of the greens are raised with steeply sloped sides, making accuracy essential since missing them by even just a few feet will result in a serious penalty. The golf course has a heavily wooded front nine that seamlessly transitions into a more open back nine featuring links-style holes. The Ledges is a shotmaker's course that offers several interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Ledges Number Four, Par 4, 276. The fairway is narrow, with precious little bail-out to its right. A driveable hole for the bold. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

# Nine, Par 5, 528. These bunkers will snare many an approach shot that is sliced or pushed. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The 10th is a classic downhill par-5 of 564; it’s a three-shotter for all but very long, straight hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The massive bunker that sides green eleven could be a nightmare for those who aren’t all that handy with a sand wedge. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Eighteen (from the left rough): Great finisher where you’ll want to avoid every one of the seven fairway bunkers, including these three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The final hole as seen from its right rough. Getting up and down around this green is no simple task. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Premium Experience
First time playing this course, played 18 in the afternoon with a buddy after we had played 18 holes at another nearby course that morning. Was initially struck by the clubhouse and incredible view of Mt Tom - beautiful! Would be an absolute must play during the fall foliage. The gentleman in the clubhouse was very friendly and professional and the twilight rate for 18 with a cart is an excellent price.
The course was in great shape save for a few of the short par 3 greens, which were fairly beat up, but that is to be expected as they see a ton of tee shots. Excellent variety along the course and a number of opportunities to score if you are a longer hitter. Features a couple par 5s that are reachable in two. Great course design with lots of risk/reward propositions, my favorite being the 4th par 4, a short drivable par 4 if you can carry the ball 250y. It is guarded by water right up to the green, obtainable eagle if you have the guts to go after it, or you can play it safe to the fairway that runs along the water to the right. Lots of uphill and downhill shots, fairway bunkers, fescue, trees, water- excellent variety and characteristics. Not many area courses have this much to offer in the sense of variety and spectacular views. Even the cart drive on a boardwalk style cart path through everglades to access holes 5-8 was very cool. A private country club feel and quality at muni prices. Highly recommended, will absolutely be back soon!
Ledges
First time playing the course. Got a little backed up as there was one guy in the club house and he was the starter as well.
Shorter course, I am a 12 handicap and play with people who were not and played from the white tees. Playing from the white gave challenges i didnt think were going to be in play!
Would play here again!
Wet course, good shape, plays long.
The course is in good shape, some sand on the greens, recovering well. This course has several holes that are wet and thus cart path only, slows you down a little, busy day made it a slow round. Fun to play, great views.
Falls golf premier spot in Western Mass
Course was in amazing condition as always, pace of play was seemless and the scenery was awesome with the fall foliage setting in. Super friendly staff and I will play this course weekly until the leaves begin to fall!!!
Excellent experience
Great time with friends. Course is in excellent shape. Fairways ,greens very soft. Balls stick on the greens. A little slow but holds lines very well. Bunkers could use new sand, lots of small rocks. A couple of funky holes but all Courses have something similar. Pace was slow 4.5 hrs. Place was packed.
Always the best
My favorite course and I belong to two clubs one being a fancy private club. You can always expect great conditions and the holes are all unique and super fun. This can be a short course if you move up a tee or two so expect to hit alot of wedges and irons, that is another reason I love it, really gives you a through the whole bag experience. Payed $40 for 18 and a cart, my sushi in Amherst post round cost $90 so you do the math, just a steal. Not a big bar or food scene there post round so do yourself a favor and go next town over to Amherst and make an absolute day of it. Love you Ledges!
NICE
Everyone was friendly. Great pace of play do to a wonderful starter! It was wet because it had rained the day before. (Cart path only) But I was paired with some wonderful men and it was throughly enjoyable.I will be back soon.
