Getting Better and Better
I played golf today at Gulf Shores Golf Club. The course is really shaping up. Lots of grass in the fairways and the greens were fast. A couple a greens still need work but most were in really good shape. Tee boxes are looking really good. I would recommend Gulf Shores Golf Club to anyone looking for a good golf experience.
overpriced comparatively
The fairways were pretty well maintained and the best part of the course. I can imagine the course was an amazing course in its younger years. The greens were awful. Yes, they were fast, but we were prepared for that. There were multiple dead spots in every green. Guess I should've played this before playing the other courses in the area and maybe I wouldn't have had such high expectations. It was a fun course to play, not too crowded. Free range balls. Friendly staff.
Great Course
The course looks great. The staff is friendly. Had a great time playing and will return.
Needs work
The pace of play was very slow; we had to wait every time on the tee boxes. The greens were in very rough condition, with dead spots that had been painted green. This is a fun course with a great layout, but it is nowhere near worth what they are charging to play.
Tee times need more spacing, or a marshal should be out enforcing the pace of play. Most every green is very much in need of some TLC.
Not Worth the Money – Look Elsewhere
recently played GSGC,and I have to say, it was one of the most disappointing golf experiences I’ve had in a long time. They charge $129 for a round here, but in reality, this is maybe a $50 course at best. The greens were in absolutely terrible shape — patchy, slow, and full of bare spots. It looked like they hadn’t been properly maintained in months. On top of that, the pace of play was brutal. We were stuck behind multiple groups all day, waiting on almost every shot, and there was no course marshal to be seen.
For the price they’re asking, I expected something far better. Honestly, it felt like a complete rip-off. Save your money and find somewhere else to play — there are plenty of courses out there that offer a better experience . I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Terrible
$140 to play this course a joke. Double booked tee times. No cart girl. Poop literally on the wall in the bathroom.
Greens needed work, but the course was in good shape.
But for the cost there are better options.
Gulf Shores CC
I can’t recommend this course to my friends because we were not informed ahead of time that they had high school rounds that day. Maybe over 100 high school golfers on the course. And, we got stuck behind a 5-some. That is not allowed where I play. My friends would not have been happy.
Good course
Played while on vacation. It was a good course, greens were a little beat up but think it was just time of year and weather impacts. Overall good layout and good pace of play.
GSGC
Course condition is tremendous. Weed control is the best it's been in years. Green fees are competitive with surrounding courses.
Almost Great
The staff were great, everyone from the nice lady in the pro shop to the starter and cart lady. The course had just hosted a tournament so the tee boxes were a bit beat up but course was in good shape. The biggest issue was the driving range, it was a mat. Being our first round of the year and spending the entire winter up north hitting off mats, it was sad to warm up by hitting on more mats. Overall, we had a good experience and it was very close to being great. Will play again next spring break.
Over Priced
With the older carts, no GPS it seems to expensive.
Great course
Only issue is the back tee boxes. On several holes, there are trees that need to be trimmed. A couple of the par 3 especially. It’s hard to play a dogleg par 3. No body plays the back tees so they have neglected to trim the trees.
First Tee Time after/following a college girls golf tournament
Next time make plenty of space for public golfers if you’re going to allow public tee times. We waited 45 minutes between holes 7 and 8.
Course was very dry and not in good shape, from a “green” perspective, but I was also told last months 7” of snow was responsible for that.
Pretty pricey course to allow such bad tee time management.
Could be awesome
The problem is that they killed all the fairways so very difficult to hit off of dead grass
