All the greens were destroyed by previous freeze.
Overall course conditions was very poor. I live out of town, I was the only one on the course.
The worst greens I’ve ever seen.
Greens are the absolute worst I’ve ever played. Sand all over, weeds. Putting feels like rolling the dice rather than taking a shot. Some holes couldn’t tell where the fairway ends and the greens begin. Driving range is terribly uneven. I wish I had thought about taking pictures. It’s that bad. Staff was friendly, but they’re gonna need to do a better job of upkeep if this course wants to survive the long run. Thankfully it’s cheap. I wouldn’t recommend going to this course in its current state.
The only green on the greens were the weeds
Title says it all. By far the worst greens I have ever played on, and by far the worst condition that the course has been in over the past 10 years.
Worst course ever played
The greens were not kept in good condition. The pace of play was slow with a course ranger who was basically useless. The overall course just looked run down. I won’t be back.
Sad conditions for an SEC course.
It’s just sad. With the multi-millions that flow through this university,, you’d expect at least decent playing services, but that’s far from the case. Tee boxes are dirt and dirty. Weeds on the putting green makes it impossible to put straight. The fairways are so bumpy I thought my golf bag was going to come out of its strap. The turf is so hard it’s very difficult to hit a clean shot. There’s very little signage and once I got lost trying to find the next hole and fortunately I could use my golf app to determine if I was on the correct hole.
The poor state of the course is unfortunate because LSU has the means to make this course more playable.
Worst Course Ever
This is by far the worst course you can play on. The whole course looks like a cow pasture. The greens are a sand pit and the only “ green” on them is the weeds. Not even worth 15 dollars to play 18 holes. Bring 3 balls per hole because you will lose your ball in the fairway. This course should shut down already. Not even worth calling it a golf course.
LSU should be embarrassed
This may just be the worst golf course in the state! The greens were more sand and dirt than grass, and the fairways not much better. The front 9 feels like an apocalyptic wasteland. The rough is more like hay. We lost more balls just in the grass than we could count. The course layout must have been designed by Stevie Wonder, because there is no continuity. Holes are everywhere with virtually no signage or directions. To have the "preeminent" university in Louisiana have its name on this thing is embarrassing. I guess this is what an $80 million budget hole looks like. It's a microcosm of the state of LSU at this point.
Need to stop going here
I used to go here a lot during my first year. Stopped after manager was incredibly rude to friend and I when we complained about course conditions: “this isn’t Augusta National.” Maybe, but you also shouldn’t lose balls that are 2 feet off the fairway because grass is up to ankles. Shanked a shot in front of a tee box on another hole, couldn’t find the ball because grass is so long it is impossible to see it. Just do yourself a favor and go to Webb.
Time of year.
This time of year is tough on courses. Ground was hard and the greens were lacking. Very sandy and need attention.
LSU Golf Course
The first 9 holes were so unkept. Lost half of my Titlest golf balls on the first 9 because grass was so high and where it was a little decent the grass was piled up high like they just mowed and didn’t take care of dead grass. We saw 2 snakes, one was right beside my golf balls. Was not pleased with the first 9 at all. However the 2nd 9, 10-18 was beautiful. Really enjoyed it. So overall it was a bad morning but afternoon was very pleasant.
bad shape
Greens are bumpy, lumpy, some sand, dirt an different types of grass.
LSU should be ashamed
The course conditions were terrible. The rough was super high and the fairways and bunkers were abysmal. I cant tell you how many golf balls i lost. The staff was decent except a few rude members.
This place is not LSU caliber
The course conditions were terrible. The rough was super high and the bunkers are in terrible shape. I cant tell you how many golf balls i lost. The staff was decent except a few rude members.
Get what you pay for
Greens were sub par, the first cut of grass off the fairway was deep, and was difficult to find balls. Some signage to direct you to the next hole was missing making it difficult to navigate the course. Hole 6 on the scorecard is incorrectly laid out; it doglegs left, not right. My expectations were not high because of the low green fees, but I think a bit more effort needs to go into maintaining the course.
