Please work on this course
Bare spots abound, bunkers almost feel like concrete. Restrooms and sports shop closed and under reconstruction(?) for an extended time. "Check-in" desk refused to give a cart key until 15 min before tee off.
Almost more bare spots than grass
Glad to see the course somewhat survived the torrential rains. Hole #3 shortened to reduce the amount of mud you'd need to play through. Cart paths rough. Greens in fair condition.
Crap show as usual!
Crap show as usual!
Completely overbooked! Horrible conditions! Closed the snack bar down by 2 o’clock in the afternoon! No hot food available! Other than that a complete waste of time!
Good value
Still some swampy spots from the downpours a few weeks ago.
Pace of olay very slow on weekend
Very slow pace despite available tee times listed online. It seems they overbook. Lots of standing water on course 2 days after heavy rains. Only 15 holes open, but a discounted rate was charged to compensate.
3 hours for front 9
Couldn’t take how slow it was so I left. Too many beginners there taking too much time
Pace & fairway
I’m so very disappointed in the fairways and tee boxes. The only part of the course that was ok was the greens. The pace of play was horrible. The three times we saw the marshal they were doing nothing to get the players moving.
Really needs work
CV Muni will never be confused with Torrey Pines, but my gosh it is really in bad shape. Greens are OK, some even pretty good, but the fairways and tee boxes are terrible. Cart paths are washed out with pot holes and mud on almost every hole. No idea why, no heavy rain lately. Half of the ball washers have no water and that's just a symptom of neglect. With a "hot deal" you can play for $20, but even that is not a good deal. Sorry to be so brutal, but this well layed out course deserves better.
More bare spots than grass
Please fix this course. It could be enjoyable to play, but, it's frustrating to about always be on hardpacked dirt.
Miserable condition
The course is in miserable conditions. Most fairways are lacking grass. A tee box on the back 9 was patchy grass. Also pace of play was frustrating, 3 hours to finish the front 9. At one there was a group on the tee box, 3 groups waiting and one chipping on the green behind us
DO NOT PLAY HERE
This is the worst golf course I have ever played at. The greens are slow and your ball bounces like it’s in a pinball machine when you putt. 4 of the fairways are mostly dirt and or mud. Tee boxes are terribly uneven and the pace of play was 3 hours for nine holes. If you rent a cart strap in because it’s a ROUGH ride due no cart paths besides in between tee boxes and greens and the hundreds of holes in the fairways and in the “rough”. Do not waste your money here.
Course flooded / closed till further notice
On01/26/2023 I booked a round at CVGC for 12:02 for $23. GN took the reservation and greens fee.(greens fee charged). But the course was closed due flooding and I never got to play. How do I recover the gem. Fees?
The Good & the Bad
We had gotten a good deal on the round through golf now,had that not been the case. The three stars for value, would've been lower.. When we walked up for our 11:46 tee time and saw the beverage cart driving around,we passed on purchasing drinks at the 19th hole.We were later disappointed to never see the beverage cart later on the course.
On to the course, the 1st hole fairway was being punched by a tractor, not a good sign, as all the fairways were pretty rough. The bright spot were the greens, which were in great condition. The sand bunkers were nice and soft,as I found myself in seven of them. The pace of play, was fine.
If they can bring back the fairways to good condition,we will happily come back
