Apache Creek Golf Club
About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

fine but dusty dry, no water on course, no cooler on cart
The marshall kept lurking the entire time, made everyone feel rushed but you can only go as fast as the group ahead, first course we saw a marshall do this...maybe the marshall should just bug the front group to go faster (trickle effect). Super dusty course due to so much sand/dirt, so winds kick up a lot of dirt. Water along the way or at least coolers to keep drinks cold should be offered for the price you pay.
Be prepared for slow play.
Pace of play was very slow to say the least. Course ranger came up to us many times to say that there was a few groups a head of us with some inexperienced golfers in it. I asked what he was doing about it and he said nothing really that he could do. Last time he came to us I told him this will be close to a six hour round and in fact it was a 5 3/4 hour round. We were delayed almost 30 minutes to start and was told by the starter the reason for the delay was because some guy had his kid playing and would 3 to 4 balls each time. If the course rangers are not going to do anything about the slow play why have them out there to begin with? Also, be advised there is no drinking water on the course and the starter only gives you enough for one per person.
Apache Creek Golf Course
Friendly staff, great service, excellent golf course and in great shape. Will definitely play here again.
Spring break
The course is in terrible condition. Lots of bare spots. Some greens are OK but some have bare spots. Fareway sprinklers were on all morning while we played. Must be 100,000 gopher holes on the course. Some tee boxes require a drill to get the tee in the ground.
Less traffic and less costly
Easy to find. Easy check in. Cleaned carts with ball and club washer. And sand bottles. Water for us at start. Tees fairly good but a number especially the 3’s with pretty uneven ground. Fairways good roughs with spotty grass and lots of desert. Bunkers playable. Greens rolling pretty well and some curve. Price finally down. Water buckets for towels played in 3:50. Carts can’t go to car. Sometimes tough turning left out of driveway late in the day.
Not much shade
The sand was like concrete, there is no water on the course and it is hard to figure out where we are supposed to be hitting. It was almost 100f day and no shade
Priced too high for location.
Currently, greens are patchy. Grass around the greens may be the best part of the course, but the fairways are terrible. Quite often it feels like one can get thrown from the cart as the “cart paths” are in horrendous shape. People start on whatever hole they want, faster players or groups never get through. Course uses the ‘surge’ pricing model and fleeces customers all day. It’s not worth it.
Great greens
The greens were good sized with undulation. The fairways were a little thin in spots, but improving. This is a nice course and will play again.
Packed in like cattle
5 1/2 hours to play ,4 groups on a hole at 1 time .
