Lots of fun
Tee to green course in great shape. Rewarding fairways.
Greens are mainly fast but if you come in from high up they stop good. Enjoyed it throughly.
Christmas Eve golf
28 degrees at tee off. The course was frozen. My drives went longer than ever, so did my putts.
Good course, great staff
Played for the first time with friends who were beginners. The course was good for them because there were only a few places where they were in danger of losing balls. As an intermediate player, it was challenging and fun for me to test my skills even though I'd never played it before. There were a few areas that were inbounds where my ball landed and the surface was pretty bare prompting me to move the ball into a better surface to avoid damaging my clubs. (I chalk it up to desert golf. It happens.) Would definitely play again.
BEST COURSE IN THE TRI CITY AREA
Course looks amazing, well done management and maintenance! Ive played all the courses here... the cost and quailty of this course wins hands down
Great course
Love the course and the weather. Got behind the ladies league and it was a little slow but they kept it moving along finished under four hours which was great. One fairway was a little dead but the rest of the fairways were in good shape. Greens were in excellent condition and rolled out nicely. Great Prescott golf course.
Good. Alue
Course was in better shape than expected, especially the greens. Pace was good after a slight starting delay.
Fun Round
They've done a nice job making improvements from a few years ago. Very enjoyable way to spend the day in Prescott. Looking forward to going back again in the future!
Beautiful Course
Prescott Country Club is a awesome course. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The pace of play is prefect. Love the course can’t wait to get back.
Older Course but Improving in Many Ways
I play this course regularly. It is a nice layout which is a fair test for amateurs of all abilities. New management earlier in 2019 has made a difference in the experience. Improvements to the course, the personnel, the check-in and more are under way and are helping this course get better. The setting has many scenic vistas which, to me, make the experience more enjoyable. The greens are improving and are challenging, but fair. The cost is reasonable but deals are available if you are flexible for playing time. I recommend PGC to anyone living or traveling in the Prescott, AZ area.
Poor Set-up
Fairways far too narrow and rough far to tall for average golfer play. Course tricked up by this and not fun for average golfer. Could be easily fixed with proper mowing. Most players on this course are average and/or many Seniors.... not a good match for course set-up at all. This is not the US OPEN, There are other options available for the local golfer. Also the course is spotty as regards condition of fairways and greens. Tee set-up with 5 sets of tees is excessive and unnecessary. Whites only 5 to ten yards shorter than blues...might as well play the blues??
Enjoy Club Golf
I had played PGC 4 years ago and thought the course was in pretty rough condition. After reading some reviews I decided to give it a try again. Wow what a difference. Lush green fairways and nice greens. I fully expect it will improve even more within a few months work on some of the cart paths needs to be done. More sand in traps will help (although they are executable now) and a second cut on the fairways would be a plus instead of Fairway deep rough conditions now (If you can keep it in the fairway noe no problem exits --LOL). This is going to become my go to course in Prescott area. By the way the food was good too and service excellent.
Great golf day
The course was in excellent shade and the employees were friendly. Highly recommend.
Members do not appreciate "outsiders"
Jim L. in the pro shop was warm, friendly, and explained the Senior discount quite well. At the desk is a large sign requesting only two golf carts per foursome. The members disregard that sign and let it be known they do not like outsiders at THEIR course. One woman, I would guess in the 08:12 AM tee time, on the warm-up range let it be known she did not appreciate "outsiders" ( a term she used several times) at HER course. Had I not already paid for the round, I would have left over her rudeness and disrespect.
The new management group appears to be spending money to upgrade the course. They have a bit more work to do. The greens were very good, but the fairways needed work.
Normally I would not say not to play a course. However, until the new management educates the "members" on the absolute need for "outsiders' money "to sustain the course, I will not be back.
