Great Golf!
Course was in great shape, greens were perfect. We played in 70 degree weather and finished in 3 hours. Design features a nice variety of holes, left, right, long, short…
Definitely worth the drive up from Phoenix, had a great time and will be back soon.
Glad I tried it
Not the most difficult course around, but enjoyable to play and won’t beat you up. Excellent conditions other than some of the bunkers. Great greens. I felt it was a good value for money. Course was busy but our foursome finished in less than 4 hours which was appreciated. All staff encountered were pleasant, especially the woman in the snack shack.
Great course and pace of play
The course is in good shape except for some of the bunkers. There are some rough spots here and there but that is to be expected this time of year. I hear they are working on fixing the bunkers . Most of the staff is great. I say most but I really mean all but one individual. I try to avoid this individual but sometimes it can’t be helped since he works the desk where you check in. Just a cranky guy who needs to be ignored.
Great course for the money
I was expecting the course to have some work being done, but there wasn’t. It was just well maintained. Overall, it was a great experience out there for the money. Over the last few months I’ve played some courses that cost more than this one and they were terrible for the amount I had to pay. Very much satisfied and will definitely be going back there again soon if this weather holds out.
Rough
Yes rough is to high, slows down pace of play. We don't have spotters or gallery to locate our ball like pga tour does. And where was the marshal to keep the groups moving. We were 45 minutes behind schedule.
Nice layout
Greens are still pretty bumpy from the aeration. Be nice if they rolled them
Not the best course for mobility challenged
We arrived an hour early as we had allowed extra time in the event of traffic issues from Sedona. The staff was very accommodating and arranged for us to go off about a half hour before our original tee time. Two of our 4-some have mobility issues so we requested permission to drive the carts closer to the green than normal, and flags so the Marshall and other players would know we had permission to do so. We requested this both to assist our players and to speed up play for our group.
We were told by the starter that they did not have flags, but they would turn off the alarm on the cart GPS so we could approach up to 30 feet from the green.
However, the VERY LOUD alarm not only went off, but at a distance much further than 30 feet from the green.
As a result, our two handicapped players had difficulty getting to the elevated greens and we all felt rushed in order to maintain an ontime pace of play. One of our handicapped players frequently had to pick up her ball as she felt she either could not climb to the raised green, or more frequently, could not get to the green, putt, and back to the to the cart in a timely manner.
All in all, although the course is in good condition and the fairways are relatively flat, I would not recommend this course for the mobility handicapped.
Three hours for 9 holes!
Drove up from Phoenix to check out the Prescott area golf courses for a possible future relocation. This one is off the list. Had a 12:38 tee time and we finally teed off just before 1pm. After more then 3 hours we finally reached number 9 hole, I had to quit at that point as I couldn't take a 6 hour round!! What a horrendous fail for the course managment. I was playing with a couple of members and they said 'it usually isn't like this' but that doesn't really make up for it. Found out they let a group outing come in before us and put the tee times 3 minutes apart. Two to three foursomes backed up on every tee box. Add that to the sub par lunch I had at the clubhouse, and I don't need to come back. I can cross this one off my house hunting list.
Prescott Golf Club
I gave an "average" on course conditions as some of the fairways were under repair and the greens were "bouncy".....
Still, it is my favorite course and I will be back
