North Golf Course at Sun City
About
Located just south of Grand Avenue in Sun City, Sun City North Golf Course's trademarks are the doglegs and large trees that are present throughout the course. It has many other challenges to offer including plush, elevated greens and numerous sand bunkers. Placid ponds also create water hazards that come into play on two holes. The well-maintained course is relatively flat with plenty of shade, making it enjoyable to walk. The Sun City North Golf Course facility has several amenities including a putting green and chipping area. There is also a fully stocked pro shop and full service grill and deli.

Good time
Fun layout. Course redesign makes greens more interesting. Regressed front nine last spring/summer with Tiftuff and will have an excellent transition this spring. Fairways good color and fair turf density, especially with new grass. Greens a little thin and worn but ball rolled pretty good. Another year and North will be stellar. We played late and value was great. Course was very firm as it was breezy.
Over priced over booked
Dead fairways, lots of fivesomes, very fuzzy greens. These Sun City courses used to really shine in the winter time. Now they're reminiscent of a poorly funded municipal course that's getting ready to shut down. Sad.
Bumpy greens and no overseed
The greens did not have a great overseed. Playing off dormant grass The Lakes courses greens were excellent when we played them.
But the staff are always cheerful and accommodating.
Winter desert conditions
This is a fun course to play, decent design and enough challenge to keep your interest. I rated it lower because they didn’t overseed the fairways, only tee boxes and greens. So you are hitting off of hard ground with dormant or little grass in the fairways. The greens rolled pretty nicely with decent speed. It was a pretty slow pace on the front nine with groups of foursomes in front of us, but they stopped after nine and the pace was great on the back. Got a good GolfNow rate, so it was worth it.
SunCity North
No overseeing so course is not in best shape. They are still overcharging for carts . It is what it is so we have to deal with ih.
Great Course to Walk and Stretch Your Legs
Great course. Solid layout for the moderate player. Gives you a nostalgic feeling when walking.
Bad conditions and slow play
Maybe it’s the time of year but all the fairway grass was completely dead. Greens were better but slow play made this an almost 5 hour round
Mid day mid course
We were the only time slot from 10-12 and somehow suddenly multiple singles caught up and passed us. One issue was they had 1 cart, we had 4 so 2 had to walk. Other issue was they only had 3 walking carts hence why we needed a golf cart. Grass is dead. Just for a sub city course $60 is a lot for a retirement community course.
Don't play here!
I've played this course before so I thought I knew what the course would be like, then I showed up 😯🤬😫! If I hadn't prepaid I would not have stayed and played here! None of the fairways were overseeded so every fairway shot was off of yellow, dead Bermuda grass! Would have been nice if they had warned us! The greens were actually decent but that doesn't make up for the rest of the course. The staff was friendly and told us that Willow Creek is the course to play in Sun City this winter as that course is overseeded and beautiful.
It is December…..
But, compared to the other Sun City courses, the North this time was a little dry compared to last year at this time. We will be back, but we’ll give it a little rest to see if it improves.
Old and dry but playable
Good value for a walk around the course. Older design…strait and longish. Fairways were dry and hard.
Waiting.
We were walking. We got to 11 and we started waiting each hole after that. We had 6 players in front of us. 3 men 3 Ladies. This is unacceptable. But a nice course.
Sun City North
Walking rate is phenomenal given the astronomical prices at most courses. That’s about it.
