River Hills Golf & Country Club
About
River Hills Golf and Country Club is in Little River, near North Myrtle Beach, a Tom Jackson product that shows heavily-wooded, rolling terrain with elevation changes as much as 40 feet. Golfers won't encounter parallel fairways, but they will encounter fairways that weave through a series of homes, along with dogwood, maple, live oak, pine and cypress tees. They will also see quite a bit of water, though most of it is lateral.

Love the layout
I played this course back in the 90's. It was nice then and it was still nice now.
Excellent conditions, very challenging!
Course conditions are much improved since the last time I played it about 2 years ago. Water everywhere and must be played with a strategic mindset. Whatever tees you think you should play, I recommend moving up a set.
Nice to come back
Had not played since 2017, really like that each hole is so unique and different, played as a twosome so pace was slow for us but on time for course. Greens were great. just very difficult to read and for speed. course in great shape. Marshall named Tom was so courteous and chatted much with us while we waited on some shots. Would highly recommend course.
Beautiful course!
Loved the round. The course plays out well, lots of interesting and challenging holes, undulating fairways, many lined with larger beautiful homes. An upscale golf community.
last round
played last round before heading back home great course great staff played with a couple members very helpful
Underrated
Course in great condition, no problem playing the ball down. Greens rolled good. Good test for shotmakers.
Excellent
Everything was great. Wish they had a drink cart but understandable since there weren’t a whole lot of people on the course after the hurricane

Staff.at the course from the bag drop to the pro shop and restaurant were very friendly and helpful.
Awesome track!
Had a blast playing this course with my brothers and nephew. Conditions were great (outside of the heat which was not the courses fault) and I’d consider this a fair if not slightly challenging course. Starters were super accommodating and welcoming. Excellent way to spend my vacation with the family and I would love to play here again. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Great course
Great course for the money, well maintained and great staff. Can’t wait to go back!
Good Mix of holes
Great course with some scoreable holes with a few tough ones mixed in
Great test & conditions
Played here a few years ago, and the new greens make it even better. Green speeds were perfect for heat and pin placements. It's a shotmakers course, with lay ups on doglegs & tight fairways, so be super accurate on your yardages and have some fun!
First Time
I have driven past this course for the past ten years in Little River. Always thought it was not a great track. Saw a deal on GolfNow so my son and I decided to play something new. We liked it so much we played it again the next day with my oldest son. Great course, fun layout, lots of unique holes. Short par 4's, challenging par 5's. Great condition. It has water but not to much water.
Highly recommend. I am a 9 handicap and my sons are 7 and 12.
River Hills 1st time
Course conditions were good. Fast greens (small sized) bunkers-clean fluffy sand, nice fairways. Staff- friendly in and around clubhouse. Plenty of marshals riding around all morning checking things. Did a good amount of waiting on multiple holes though at times felt rushed from group behind us (senior 4 some) to just sit and wait for the groups in front of us (2 senior 3 some) Started on back 9…didn’t love but was a of with due to a busy early morning. Had a great playing partner (who had great course insight and experience, probably the only way we found our way thru each hole) added to our pair of golfers. The course layout was difficult to see and know where the landing areas are from tee to fairway. Multiple holes were sharpe doglegs that you had no idea where or how far to hit your shots. Basically just played to the150yrd marker in the fairway and then try to find the green. The rough on either side, trees and houses tight to the golf holes. I would only recommend to a friend who likes shorter course and who can keep their shots fairly controlled in tight, narrow conditions. Good course to play and see though.
