Previously known as The Jackal Golf Club at Mt Brighton. Sprawling across a majestic landscape covered with spring-fed ponds and mature oaks, The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton offers a challenging round as well as stunning scenery. The golf course shares the grounds with a ski resort, guaranteeing a variety of dramatic elevation changes throughout. Club selection is the key to doing well on this course. Accuracy is also an important factor. The tricky greens are balanced by generous, player-friendly fairways. Acres of natural wetlands, including a cascading waterfall, have been incorporated into the design. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The layout opens with a dramatic, downhill par 4 that offers a panoramic view of the course. In addition to the golf course, The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton also offers a grass driving range.

Dont play in the rain
Challenging in the rain but we could see where the course would be a great challenge in better conditions. The driving range in under construction and there are some areas being drained that are part of rebuild. I would visit again
great, fun course
golfnow makes this course a great value for what it is. Fun, challenging holes with beautiful view. The downside is that it was under construction installing new ski lifts for the winter season and the driving range was not open. It didn't really effect the holes tho besides the cart path on 1 and 9. Love playing this course!
Fun and Challenging
Very unique course that presented many challenges. Bring lots of balls unless you are a good golfer. Pace of play was very slow though. Will go back but only if course isn't busy
Rangers did not control pace of play very well.
We had a 10:30 tee time and arrived @ the course early so they told us we could tee off early, 10:15, which was great! They reminded us that the course was pretty full and to keep up the pace of play. There was a 3-some in front of us (a 2-some) and they were playing a best ball, which should have increased their pace of play. However, that was not the case.....5 hrs. later! They would not allow us women to play through and the ranger was aware of the slow play on their part but did nothing. Needless to say, our shots suffered because of all the waiting and there was a 2-some behind us so we felt pushed and rushed. Disappointing!
Average
Staff was worthless. No more than a dozen groups on the course on a Saturday morning and wasn't allowed to play alone or have my own cart. Course was very dry and carts were path only until we got to 15. Got balled out by the ranger twice for being in the rough and most holes didn't have a path start to finish. Pin placement was very difficult and almost punishing for managing the rest of the hole.
Awesome!
This was one of the nicest courses I've play anywhere close to my location. I will most likely be playing this course at least once a week. Please make more hot deals with this course! Thank you
beautiful course and surroundings.
No Delays or backups. Greens rolled very well, played from the Blues and this provides all the yardage you need, especially with the hazards everywhere.
Shooting off a mountain cliff is just amazing
Beautiful tough course, high mountain feel, deep woods tight fairways, well maintained, need strategic approach, every hole is challenging in different ways, shooting off a mountain cliff feels so good! Definitely one of my favorite golf courses if you are looking for an unorthodox approach
Very tight, very good condition
Very strategic course in very good condition. Bring plenty of balls but very nice course.
Like this course, beautiful setting right in town
Up north feel in a town town area, hit it straight or you can be in trouble.
unique, challenging, fun
This niceness of this course is surprising - and the elevation changes related to the ski hills is interesting, but not overdone. I recommend - and is a good value if you use golfnow rates.
Course had some amazing views.
Course played somewhat easy. Has a mixture of great holes and not so great. Overall a different golf experience.
Scared of Heights...beware of the Jackal
You start out from a top Mr Brighton, a view of Kensington Valley on the first tee you'll feel as if you're on the edge of the earth. Your first shot is about a 600' drop to the valley floor to a dogleg right 45 degree turn to the green. Yes, you are playing on a ski slope. Once off the slope you have a set of beautiful holes craved through your typical Michigan hardwood forest and swamp. Squeaky tight fairways...greens that are firm, fast and, more wavy than Lk Erie. If your not straight off the tee leave your driver in the bag. The Jackal will both charm you and leave you a wondering what just happened if you don't give her the respect she commands. 3 putts could be common if your speed isn't dialed in and your eye for the undulations has been left at home.
The team at the Jackal are friendly and will share local knowledge with a first timer. Pace of play was good, relaxed, and, steady.
Multiple tee boxes will give even shorter players a fair chance.
Respect the Jackal or she will have you for lunch.
Single digit handicappers dream, high handicappers frustration
Built into hills and valleys, accuracy is at a premium. High slope rating and elevations make club selection a challenge.
Large undulating greens with deceptive approaches for best placement on the green. Back nine expecially scenic. First hole a bit strange given the carpeted tee box at the top of a ski lift. Bring your GPS since distance markers are hard to locate.
Course in good shape and challenging, service was excellent.
Very interesting and challenging track. Some tee shots required irons/woods instead of driver. Walking is not an option . Will play again.
Playable, challenging, but slooooow
The Jackal is a fun course to play if you have nothing else to do after your round. Every time I have played here it takes 5 hours to play 18 holes no matter what time of year it is. The last time I played here was on 11/10/12 and I had to skip the last hole due to lack of light. We started our round at 12:20 and the sun set at 5:30 that day if that is any indication. If you can get past the long waits the course itself is fun to play. There are some tricked up holes but most of the course is very playable if you can hit it fairly straight. Overall I like the Jackal but the long rounds are a turn off for me.
Not true! I play at the Jackal about 2 times a week including weekends and never play in 5 hours.
Slope rating is great. Not recommend to walk though.
The Greens were in excellent condition for being this late in the year. Fast and running around 10 on the stimp meter. Somewhat receptive. Fairways cut well and easy to determined the rough. A few tight driving holes such as #10 with water on the left. Plenty of green side bunkers as well. Would recommend for all levels of golfers with 20 handicap or less.
You will use every club in your bag.
Interesting course to play. Par #3 and #14 and you can call yourself a golfer. Nice set of par 3's. Play the right set of tee's or you won't have any fun.
great views
i love the course.when i get a chance i tell ny friends about the course and then we book a t time there and they all go away happy.
Excellent condition! Great challenge...
course was in excellent condition, really challenging layout. wasn't crowded which was great
Were you in a 4some? If so then courses don't allow three carts in one group, did the give you an option to pay for your own cart?
