Eagle Nest Golf Club
About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

A renewed friendship!
I first played Eagle Nest in 1998! I think it fair to say that the facilities were a little rudimentary then! Tiny clubhouse and small bar area. There have been major changes to the facilities but the course wayout remains the same. This past year it has undergone a major overhaul and it has been done sympathetically. From the tips it is a BIG challenge, especially the final 3-4 holes! If your, visiting from the UK then it is a big enough. Halle get from the whites! As you would expect after a refurbished the greens and bunkers are in very good shape. When I played in a store Nile the pace of play was excellent and groups were happy to waive me through! As with the majority of MB courses you get what you hit! No run on the fairways and no running it into the green! You need to fully up to the pin as being short leaves you plugged with the chance of a lost buried ball! Not something we are used to in the U.K.! If you like a beer on the way round, and who doesn't ? Get a bucket from the snack bar and take some beers out with you! At just $3 a pop it's a no brainier, especially if there is no beer cart in operation! I'd say it's a good honest course and well maintained and worth the green fee via GolfNow!
Well worth the money.
The house was great shape greens were fast and true. Wide open fairways well maintained.
WOW
We played here several years ago, and the course was in rough shape, which is why it’s been several years since we played here. What a pleasant surprise the shape of the course was in especially the greens. After our round I went inside to complement the staff who explained why the course had such a vast turnaround.. This will be a regular stop on my circuit when I’m in this area. Kudos to the management. Wonderful job.
Will come back
Nothing spectacular with the course but it is a nice layout with well maintained tees and greens. Good value for the money. Watch out holes 16-17-18 they might come and bite you!
Nice layour - spring conditions
Enjoyed the layout of the course, but fairways were still brown. But still good value for the fees we paid.
Course was fine; pariing was a challenge
Course was in very good condition for early April. Pace of play was good. Was paired with a heavy beer drinker and two novice golfers. Not the best.
Classic track
The course reminds me of a classic layout in North Carolina not a beach resort type track. It is a fun place to play.
