The Heritage Club
About
The Heritage Club was built on a plot of fertile land along the beautiful Waccamaw River Trail. Over 600 acres of giant magnolias, 300-year-old oaks, fresh water lakes and marshes have been transformed into a golfing community that rivals the finest in the world. The Heritage Club reflects a unique landscape carved by the whims of the river. A magnificent avenue of oaks leads to the welcoming clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw River.
Ranked among the “50 Best Public Courses in America” by Golf Digest, the Par 71 Heritage Club, a Dan Maples design, follows the natural contours of the land, stretching out beside long abandoned rice fields. The Heritage Club course features spacious, rolling fairways and large, undulating greens, surrounded by lush stands of crepe myrtle, camellias and azaleas. Heavily landscaped areas of wildflowers and flowering shrubs will maintain the beauty of this beautiful setting for generations to come.

New favorite course in Pawleys Island
I was staying for the week just down the road at Litchfeild by the sea and made a tee time here. This 1986 Dan Maples masterpiece is great course with lots of water and swamps. The Heritage Club sign outside with the moss gives a nice touch as you walk into one of the premier public courses in Pawleys Island. As I arrived the staff was wonderful and got tons of balls on the range. The facilities where great and really liked the way the clubhouse was designed.
The Marshall on the first tee was very nice and told us about the pin positions and where you could and could not drive out. The weather the day my group played it was wet and humid but it wasn't to bad. The course itself wasn't in the best shape in Myrtle beach but the layout was fantastic, with the big trees and swampy areas through the course which I would image is loaded with crocs in the summer. The greens and bunkers where good and rough was thick.
The food in the clubhouse was OK but if you want really good food I would suggest that you go to Moe's BBQ down the road a few minutes. Overall for Winter conditions I liked the course but would recommend going in the spring or even the summer for conditions.
Excellent, one of the best on the Strand
If you enjoy mature, manicured and thoughtfully laid out course than The Heritage Club is where you want to play.
Come early and spend some time in the lavishly we'll appointed club house, worth a look.
A bit out of the way when staying in North Myrtle Beach (1h drive) but all worth it.
Disappointing for the Money
We were expecting a much better conditioned course than we experienced for the green fees paid. The tees were in very poor condition and some of the greens, while generally in good shape, were virtually unputtable with the pin placements and severe rolls.
The Heritage is, in my opinion, a decent course but certainly not a premium track. I would not return unfortunately.
Very Nice course
I play 20 years ago and thé course still in Very good shape practice balls should be inclused in thé Price Very Nice day I Will come back next year
Great track
Great golf course. Friendly staff. What an incredible layout amongst the pines and many huge live oak trees, beautiful homes and landscaping, intercoastal marshes and wildlife including many alligators and even a bald eagle! Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Greens were fast and tricky with multiple tiers and undulations, but fair. Highly recommend if in the area.
Great round of golf
Course was in excellent condition, even with the amount of rain they received earlier in the week. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great experience.
Nice course
Feels different to the Myrtle Beach courses. Has a more southern feel
This course is worth the price
All aspects were top notch, course layout, staff friendliness, amenities and course conditions.
Must Play List
What a phenomenal day we had at Heritage. Right from bag drop through lunch, it was what you want in a golf experience. Everyone was incredible.....pace of play was perfect...course conditions were sweet...greens rolled quick.... definitely should be on everyone playing list
Favorite Course
This was our favorite course out of three that we played while in Myrtle Beach. Considering we played TPC & Legends-Parkland that’s saying something.
All you can expect
Love the layout. Greens in good shape with lots of subtle breaks.
what a course... but
this is my favorite course in Myrtle Beach,
but at the turn we waited almost an hour to start the tenth hole. this really killed our experience.
