Mystic Dunes Golf Club

Went back to Mystic Dunes after not playing for over a year. Nice to see it getting back to where it once was. Course was in very good shape, greens were a little slow, but compared to last time (bare spots everywhere) I played, tee boxes were good, and fairways in very good shape. The staff was very friendly, played alone as my second didn't show. But was able to keep pace with twosome in front of me. Will definitely be putting Mystic Dunes back into the rotation.

I must say the good first. I was playing golf with my buddies and the weather was great!! The course is laid out to 6400 yards from the blue tees and provides a good challenge for our skill level. Our handicap ranges from 10-23. Mine is a 10 and I shot 86. We decided to play here , because we found a 49.00 voucher on Golfergroup.com. I must say I would not pay anymore than that to play this course. The rate on this day was 129.00!! Absolutely not worth it!! Fairways were ok but if you missed the fairway by 1 yard….good luck on getting a good lie. The “waste” bunkers are so full of sand, the starter told us to take a feee drop!! There was at least 8 in of sand in these areas and almost impossible to find your ball if you hit it in there. The greens did roll very well. Some were a little damaged and not as nice as the rest. The greens were rolling about a 10-10.5 and making putts wasn’t out of the question if you got the line right!! Now, the worst part!! PACE OF PLAY!! The starter said we were about a 4 hr pace when we teed off…WRONG!! It took our foursome 5.5 hours to play thanks to the 2 foursomes in front of us. They were on vacation from Canada and drunk as could be!! No Marshall in sight to tell them to speed up or let faster groups play through….this made for a very long day of golf…..Overall, if you can get a voucher to play and you got all day, then I say go play there. If charged regular price and time can be challenging, I would skip this one!!

The front nine consists of lowlands golf similar to South Carolina. The back nine is more similar to links style golf typically found outside of Florida.

There is a good mix of water & sand hazards to make Mystic Dunes a course on your “short list” worth playing!

Kenzies restaurant and full service bar provides outstanding food & beverages as a fantastic backdrop for the 19th hole!

The fact they support Veterans with a 15% discount stands them up in favor over nearby courses like Celebration, Reunion or Champions Gate.

Do yourself a favor & try this gem of a course!

Beautiful course! Lots of natural areas. This is a challenging course, with undulating and creative greens.
The course requires every club in the bag for sure.

Although it was a challenging course, greens were amazing. Staff was outstanding, very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful.

Course has improved from 3 years ago when it was in terrible condition. You can see the improvements especially the greens. Fairways and surrounds still need a lot of work. Bit expensive for conditions.
