Desperate need for a starter
The course was very nice but it desperately needs a starter.
The course was packed with twosomes which makes it difficult for a foursome to play because you are constantly having to let twosomes play through. We would let one twosome play through and before we could finish the hole another twosome would be right on our heels. Most courses team up twosomes together to even out the pace of play but the fact that this course dido not have a starter meant that the course was full of them.
Good course for the money
Oleander is a beautiful course with challenges on every hole. The course maintenance seems to be ongoing, but could use some extra tlc in places. All in all, it’s a fun course to play.
Greens need work
The greens need to be reseeded and tended better. There are patches where grass is growing up that is uncut that makes putting seen more like winter rules. There are no ball washers on any hole and there are no yardage markers on any hole; one must depend solely on the GPS in the cart. Didn't see any 150 or 100-yd markers
Good course
Great course, usually not crowded and more available than the others
Cart path only had to ask, course wet should be discounted???
Course was fun
This was our first time playing here and first time playing golf in a long time. We had fun. The pace was good, weather was great and people working were pleasant and friendly.
Not What I expected!
The course was mushy and wet. We were not informed of the bad grounds. Many of the greens have weeds growing on them which makes putting difficult.
Poor condition
It's a well-designed golf course but the greens are pathetic and I don't understand how people could give such good reviews!
Feb 2024-avoid this course
I’m a scratch golfer and I golf often. The Jekyl staff was the Rudest staff I have ever encountered. Miserable people!! Quoted a price on the phone then denied that price and added $30 extra. Would not match the price on this app. Completely unfriendly. Explains why the course was so empty on a Friday beautiful day. Pace of play was great 👍
Now the course. I have played here a few times a year for many years. Love the island but would not come here for the golfing alone. Right now 1 of the three courses is closed for much needed renovation. The entire course is Smokey from underbrush cleanup. Conditions are super wet as this course has never drained very well. Never play it after a rainy day. Bugs are really bad, course is not allowed to use any chemicals for pest treatment other than fire (I asked). The greens are the worst I have played on in years. Looks like Poi Ana clumps of grass have taken over. Putts impossible to make. Just a horrible over priced disaster. Was planning another foursome today but decided leave the island to play somewhere else.
